Using Promo Evolution Cards-Sky Hi All, I'm back with possible strategies to use Fire civilizations Armored Groblav and Nature's Barkwhip the Smasher. I will first take a look at Armored Groblav which is the a later game monster. Armored Groblav is a 6000+/5 mana Human Evolution that gets +1000 to attack for each other Fire Creature in the battle zone and Double Breaker. Now the wording on this card means that it gets +1000 for every fire card in the battle zone, this includes your opponents creatures. So against another Fire deck this creature can get enormous and even get big enough to rival the power of Bolshack Dragon and comes in a turn earlier then Bolshack. It's hard to build a really good Human "Tribal" deck with only the base set (there are only 3 Humans in the whole base set). Hopefully there will be some better Humans in the next expansion. Even though I have only 3 Humans to chose from here is my crack at a deck. Creatures Fire: Brawler Zyler x4 (a human and cheap) Immortal Baron, Vorg x4 (cheap human) Fatal Attacker Horvath x4 (Human for 3 mana and combos well with Rothus) Armored Groblav x3 (reason for using humans) Deadly Fighter Braid Claw x3 (first turn drop thats needed to stay aggressive) Rothus, The Traveler x3 (good control and a good sized creature and combos well with Bolshack Dragon) Explosive Fighter Ucarn x3 (5 mana "game winner" that combos well with Bolshack Dragon) Bolshack Dragon x1 (why not) Spells Fire: Tornado Flame x4 (Creature Removal and Shield Trigger is nice) Crimson Hammer x3 (eliminate little aggressive creatures fast, gets rid of that darn light 1st turn blocker, and if you can't use it just drop it as mana) Spells Water: Brain Serum x4 (an aggressive deck can stop being aggressive when you run out of a hand) Spiral Gate x4 (cheap control and can set combos back a turn or more) This is a deck that I just threw together with cards I have and although I haven't played it in a tourney, it seems to play well. The water splash really helps later in the game when you start running out of a hand. I love shield trigger which is the reason there is 12 cards total that have shield trigger, I think is good number. I don't have Barkwhip yet so I haven't made a deck but it comes down fast and aggressive. Barkwhip the Smasher is a 5000/2 mana Beast Folk Evolution creature that when it is tapped it gives all other Beast Folk +2000. This guy can come down 3rd turn. 2nd turn you drop Poisonous Mushroom to mana accelerate then 3rd turn drop Bronze-Arm Tribe (you should have 5 cards in the mana zone with 2 of those cards untapped), then drop Barkwhip on Bronze-Arm, attack with both the mushroom and Barkwhip. You can also use Pangaea's Song on Barkwhip to mana accelerate 2 mana. The rules state that when an Evolution creature leaves the battle zone all creatures under it go to the same place so if Barkwhip dies it and the card under it goes to the graveyard but this also means that if Barkwhip goes to the mana zone so does the card under it and you get two mana cards for the price of one which means you can accelerate for something huge pretty fast. I think, of these promos, Barkwhip is the best because it has a ton of combo possibilities and more options since there are a total of 6 Beast Folk creatures, but don't underestimate Armored Groblav. I hope you found this informative and as always I would like to hear your comments. Until my next tip or top 10, play hard and have fun. See ya, Sky skyhawk@comcast.net
