Attention Kaijudo Duelists!
Bottle of Wishes has officially been "retired" from
constructed events/tournaments! That means effective
immediately, you CANNOT use Bottle of Wishes in any
of your tournaments, duel days, KMCs, etc. It is a
glorious day for the skillful players out there!
Thank you Wizards of the Coast for paying attention
to our metagame and to our pleas for a more balanced
gaming environment! On a completely different note,
we have today's card: Aqua Trooper XJ-3, that just
keeps coming back... unlike Bottle!
Name: Aqua Trooper XJ-3
Civilization: Water/Fire
Type: Creature
Race: Aquan/Stomper
Level: 5
Power: 2000+
Flavor Text: "It takes years to train an
aquan soldier, but my assembly line cranks out three
an hour." -Blastforge engineer
Rarity: Common
Set Number: 57/80 l 9SHA
Abilities:
(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Powerful Attack +3000 (While attacking, this
creature gets +3000 power.)
Reassemble- If this creature would be
banished return it to your hand instead.
This cards artwork reminds me
of "Sector" from Mortal Kombat! Aqua Trooper XJ-3 is
an Aquan/Stomper combo, which may have more
relevance after Invasion Earth comes out. He has a
measly 2000 power for a level 5, so you're not
missing much in that department.
He does have Powerful Attack +3000, allowing him to
swing into other creatures with less than or equal
to 5000 power. Why would you want to do that? Well,
he also returns to your hand if he would be
banished!
Aquans tend to have the habit
of returning to your hand for high cost and weak
bodies, this card is no different. If you're looking
to have a continuous source of evolution bait, then
this guy can be great for you. Personally, I don't
see a lot going on for this card aside from that
factor. It's a great card for limited play since it
hardly ever dies for good.
With more Stompers coming out
tomorrow, we have more tools to tinker around with
involving this card, however, I really don't see
anything amazing happening with this in the
foreseeable future.
Constructed: 1.75/5.00
(He never dies... that's a plus!)
Limited: 3.50/5.00 (Having a guy that can
trade off with most aggro creatures is great,
especially when your card will never truly be
gone... unless it gets put to mana..)
I hope you enjoyed today's
review! Make sure to check out my article on Alter
Reality Games’ website and until next time my fellow
Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
