It’s Tuesday and we’re
continuing our awesome week of exclusive previews
from the amazing people at Wizards of the Coast!
Today’s card is very similar to yesterdays; however,
we’re sporting the Darkness and Fire civilizations
this time! As you might have noticed, it appears
that we now have a new “cycle” in Clash of the Duel
Masters, similar to the birds from DragonStrike that
supported Dragons; these Quartz creatures support
dual-civilization cards. Alright, without further
ado, I introduce you to Chasmblaze Quartz!
Name: Chasmblaze Quartz
Civilization: Darkness /Fire
Type:
Creature
Race: Spirit Quartz
Level: 4
Power: 3000
Flavor Text:
Infused with the spirit of a dormant volcano.
Rarity:
Uncommon
Set Number:
96/110 l 7CLA
Abilities:
(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Onyx Shadow-
Each of your other Darkness creatures gets +1000
power.
Ruby Glow-
Each of your other Fire creatures gets +1000 power.
Chasmblaze Quartz is a favorite
of mine mainly because it supports the Darkness
archetype. This allows you to use Fire support in
your Mono Darkness decks and it also boosts your
power of your creatures by 1000! As of right now, we
really don’t know a lot of Darkness/Fire cards but
this could prove to increase the playability of
those decks and providing them with more solid stats
and making them more difficult to deal with later in
the game.
This card makes Galzak of
Shadow Pass even bigger of a threat to deal with as
he can single-handedly take down Infernus the
Awakened with this guy in the battle zone! Obviously
it takes some combos and different deck strategies
to make a card like this effective, but that
shouldn’t stop you from trying this card out!
The more of this card that you
can manage to get into the battle zone, the stronger
your creatures will become. Even your other
Chasmblaze Quartz’s will gain from the other’s
effects and that will require your opponent to have
to use a more selective form of removal to take them
down. Even if this becomes the case, you’re drawing
away from your other creatures and who’s to say you
won’t be able to just recycle your other Quartz
cards with Scavenging Chimera?
Ratings:
Constructed: 3.00/5.00 (There aren’t a lot of Darkness/Fire cards
out just yet but this card could be a very
beneficial card if played skillfully.)
Limited: 4.00/5.00 (Tons of mana fixing in limited and boosts your
guys. A great card in limited if you’re running
Darkness and Fire.)
Make sure to stop by tomorrow to check out more
spoilers from Wizards of the Coast! Until next time
my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game
on!
