It’s Thursday and the weekend
is fast approaching! But here at Pojo’s Card of the
Day our articles are just getting warmed up! Today
we’re covering one of the many embodiments of
Tatsurion, “Ragefire Tatsurion”. If you find
yourself being depleted of cards in your hand then
this card might just be for you!
Name: Ragefire Tatsurion
Civilization: Fire
Type: Creature
Race: Armored Dragon/Beast Kin
Level: 5
Power: 5000+
Flavor Text: Allie: “Uh, anyone smart enough
to bring a light?” Bob: “I AM a light.”
Rarity: Very Rare
Set Number: 43/55 l 6DSI
Abilities:
Wreak Havoc- While you have no cards in your
hand, this creature has “Powerful Attack +3000,”
“Double Breaker,” and can’t be the target of your
opponent’s spells and abilities. (A creature that
has “Powerful Attack +3000” and “Double Breaker”
gets +3000 power while attacking and breaks 2
shields.)
Personally I think the fact that this Tatsurion is a
Level 5 Armored Dragon and Beast Kin is his best
feature. If you’re looking to do any evolving in
your deck, Level 5 is as good as it gets for the
Dragon race as of now. You could turn him into a
Kindrix, Evo Fury, Flamespike, or even Sok’ran with
little difficulty within two turns of playing him
(at most).
Most people saw this card and
started going nuts for the “Wreak Havoc” ability.
Basically if you don’t have any cards in your hand,
Tatsurion becomes King Neptas but with an additional
3000 power when he attacks and Double Breaker! These
skills are really good and I would like to see
someone utilize him in a deck that combines him with
Neptas.
Having protection from Terror
Pit, Root Trap, Hydra Medusa, Rusalka, Lyra, and so
on is quite the ability but it also restricts you to
having no cards in your hand practically every turn.
You have to be aggressive with this Tatsurion or
you’re going to lose out on a lot of power.
Ragefire does have a huge
weakness that can be easily exploited if needed. He
only gains his power boost when his controller has
no cards in their hand. The quickest solution to
this problem if you’re facing off against him,
attack a shield! As long as you don’t hit a shield
blast, you just gave them a card to their hand and
took away his extra abilities, allowing him to be
targeted by an effect of one of your other creatures
(situational but still a viable tactic nonetheless).
Ratings:
Constructed: 3.00/5.00
(Not a bad card but requires a deck to be very
aggressive and burn through your resources quickly
every turn. Otherwise, he is one of your best
choices for an evolution target. )
Limited: 3.25/5.00 (Tatsurion
could see some play in limited, however, there’s no
guarantee that you won’t have a high cost creature
clogging up your hand or that you’ll be able to go
through all of your cards as quickly as you would
like. Again, one of the best targets for those
Dragon Evolutions in this set though.)
Hope to see you all tomorrow
when we conclude our week of reviews with the sheer
power and force of nature! Until next time my fellow
Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
