Welcome back to the Card of the
Day my fellow Kaijudo Masters! This week we will be
taking a slight break midweek but we’re still
starting and ending the week with some reviews from
Clash of the Duel Masters. Today’s card is one that
can set you up for some great plays, I bring you:
Azuri, the Dawnbreaker!
Name:
Azuri, the Dawnbreaker
Civilization: Light
Type:
Evolution Creature
Race: Skyforce Champion
Level: 7
Power: 11000
Flavor Text:
The wicked fear Azuri. Azuri fears nothing.
Rarity:
Very Rare
Set Number:
1/110 l 7CLA
Abilities:
Evolution-
Put on one of your Skyforce Champions.
Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Sunstorm- Whenever this creature enters the
battle zone, tap all enemy creatures.
Azuri is an evolution creature
with an amazing 11000 power at Level 7. It has the
ability Sunstorm, which gives you a free Stormspark
Blast when it enters the battle zone. This is an
amazing ability to have, however, it does have its
faults as well… the card is a Skyforce Champion.
Skyforce Champions have been getting a few support
cards here and there but nothing that really
solidifies the deck and brings everything together.
Everything is Level 5 at their lowest and they
average out around 6 or 7.
This is a big issue with this
cards playability. This card can be utilized with
Shapeshifter Scaradorable but that may prove to be
very cost inefficient in the long run or maybe you
don’t want to run darkness in your deck? If this
card was an Enforcer then it could revitalize Cobalt
Control and add some extra power and pressure to the
deck. Being able to tap all of your opponent’s
creatures and then freely attack upon summon is a
great effect but in the current environment, this
may set on the backburner for a set or two.
Overall, this card can be good
but will require a specific deck to utilize its
effectiveness. Don’t expect to see this card in any
current tournament level decks anytime soon… you’re
more likely to see this card filling up in your
trade binder.
Ratings:
Constructed:
2.50/5.00 (The card has some potential in an all
“Skyforce Champion Deck” but it’s far too slow in
the current environment!)
Limited:
1.50/5.00 (If you can find a Skyforce Champion
to evolve this onto you might be able to actually
play this card in a sealed event. It may prove
difficult since this requires you to have seven mana
on top of an evolution target already in the battle
zone.)
We’ll see you all again on Thursday! Until next time
my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game
on!
