Welcome back my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters! I hope
you all enjoyed that blackout performance last night
at the Super Bowl. Today's Card of the Day is a toy
that I would never want to receive under my
Christmas Tree; Razorkinder Puppet.
Name: Razorkinder Puppet
Civilization: Darkness
Race: Evil Toy
Level: 6
Power: 3000
Flavor Text:
"Shred them, my little toy!" -Alakshmi
Rarity:
Very Rare
Set Number:
85/165 l 3RIS
Abilities:
Slice and
Dice- When this creature enters the battle zone,
your opponent reveals his or her hand. You choose a
card from it and your opponent discards that card.
At first glance, this card may
just look like a less smellier version of Fumes but
it has a little bit more to offer. Instead of
allowing your opponent to choose what card to get
rid of with his effect, you get to see your
opponent's entire hand and choose a card to get rid
of!
This gives you a huge advantage
against your opponent, especially if you're playing
this by your turn six or seven since you can now get
rid of those cards that may pose a huge or imminent
threat! Skull Shatter, Tatsurion, the Unchained, and
Terror Pit are just a few examples of game changing
cards that you can get rid of before they hit the
battle zone.
One of my biggest issues with
this card is that it costs six mana and only has
3000 Power. The effect is amazing in itself but
seems a little pricy to get rid of just one card. I
think I would honestly prefer to have a six cost
creature that can discard two randomly rather than
look and choose one. I understand that you can plan
ahead and so on when you see their hand but I think
there should be a little more to this card and at
times it can feel a little underwhelming and
sluggish. Personally, I would rather wait a turn or
two more to play a Skull Shatter and just get rid of
their entire hand.
The other issue I have with
this card is that it has no specific support. There
are only a couple of Evil Toys in the game as of now
and there aren't any evolutions just yet either.
This is more of a tech choice for control deck
variants.
So if you enjoy discarding from
your opponent's hand or just want to be more aware
of how and what the opponent plays, then this card
might be for you.
Ratings:
Constructed: 3.50/5.00 (A slow and weak monster that most will only
utilize for his ability. Being able to see what your
opponent has and plan ahead is definitely worth
considering when running Darkness.)
Limited: 2.50/5.00 (This guy is far too slow in Limited to be a
threat. By turn four or five your opponent likely
has their strongest creature in the battle zone
while you play this high cost version of Fumes.)
Hope you guys enjoyed today's
card! Check back tomorrow when we review the
Bottomless Trap Hole of Kaijudo!
