Welcome to our last Card of the Day review of the week! Today we take a look at one of my last favorite tech cards, Hovercraft Glu-urrgle. As a heads up, this card gets an automatic +1 rating because he's riding a hovercraft... maybe not, but still a unique concept for a Kaijudo card.

Hovercraft Glu-urrgle is a Level 3 Cyber Lord with 1,000 Power and an ability called, "Hovercraft Rescue," which states: "Each time one of your other creatures loses a battle and would be banished, return it to your hand instead." Seems like a pretty balanced card overall for his cost, power, and effect, but the effect is what sets him apart from all the other statistics.

Last week we talked about Aqua Commando and how his ability to return to the hand was a nice little trick. Now Hovercraft may not have this exact ability himself but he protects his teammates with a watered down ability. Being able to throw out blockers like Cyber Sprite for 1 mana and have it block your opponent's Double Breaker turn after turn is a nice strategy, since you can easily replace them when they return back to your hand. If Hovercraft's ability wasn't limited to just battles, he would be a mandatory three of in every deck. The best feature of this guy is to continue to reuse your abilities. Whether you're throwing out a Fumes, Screeching Scaradorable, Aqua Spy, etc... if they would be banished from battle, put them back in your hand and reuse their effects again and again!

I think this card could be slightly better if it carried the ability for itself too... but I suppose that would have been a bit too overpowered as you would always have field presence and hand advantage against your opponent. The power level is appropriate for 3 mana, overall the other stats are pretty well balanced. Let's not forget that this guy is a Cyber Lord! That means he can turn into a well timed Emperor Neuron or Axon if needed! Although, I would personally rather have Hovercraft on the field while Neuron is already attacking, that way if Neuron goes down in battle, I can just play him again next turn!

I would expect this guy to see a ton of play in the future. He obviously does have his weaknesses (pretty much everything in the book except Comet Missile) but his ability easily makes up for that. Get him while you can, I'm sure you won't regret it!

Ratings:

Constructed: 4.25/5.00 (This card practically makes all of your other creatures immortal... don't even get me started on having multiples of Hovercraft on the field at once!)

Limited: 4.50/5.00 (I really considered giving this a perfect score for limited but I'm sure it still has its weaknesses... Rock Bite, Screeching Scaradorable, Tendril Grasp, to name a few from Evo-Fury)

Have a great weekend everyone! See you all next week when we check out some more entertaining cards! If you can't wait until then, check me out on Twitter @Raijinku. I just posted a preview from the Dragon Master Collection Kit hitting shelves in February; it opens the door for an entirely new deck build! Until then, see you next time!

Hovercraft Glu-urrgle

Today we're taking a look at the Reef Prince, well more specifically the Hovercraft version. Glu-urrgle aka 'Gargle' is Gabe's trusty companion and a technological genius, capable of transforming materials into whatever he desires.

Hovercraft Glu-urrgle
Cost: 3
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Race: Cyber Lord
Power: 1000

Card Abilities:
Hovercraft Rescue - Each time one of your other creatures loses a battle and would be banished, return it to your hand instead.

Hovercraft Glu-urrgle is an interesting card, he's seen some play and has grown increasingly popular as of late. Hovercraft only costs 3 mana, so you'll be able to get him on the board early and begin taking full advantage of his effect. His major downside is that he is only a 1000 power creature, luckily he's also one of the best races in the game for your Neuron fans!

Hovercraft Glu-urrgle has a game breaking effect in the aggro match up, allowing you to win any 'trades' that would have normally happened; and allow you to attack without too much fear of when you are counter attacked. You can even use his effect to have your creatures with enter the battle zone effects attack your opponent's creatures with larger power so that you can reuse them.

The major downside is that the effect is only by battle, meaning outside of the early game against control you're likely going to find Hovercraft almost unusable. Another flaw, outside of pure rush decks Hovercraft is almost never going to be an optimal turn 3 play; making it counter intuitive to run him unless the deck is teching a 1-of or heavily relies on aggression.

Constructed Rating: 2.5/5

Hello, and welcome to Kaijudo CoTD! Today’s card is pretty special to me because it features my favorite Kaijudo T.V series character and it’s a pretty sweet card to boot. Introducing…Hovercraft Glu-urrgle!

Hovercraft Glu-urrgle

Level: 3

Race: Cyber Lord

Power: 1000

Ability: Hovercraft Rescue — Each time one of your other creatures loses a battle and would be banished, return it to your hand instead.

Now, when it comes to Water creatures ,low power usually = unique and/or awesome effect, and this card is no exception! When one of your creatures loses a battle, it gets bounced back to your hand! Its ability works very well with weak creatures with CIP effects as long as this card is on the field. (I.E Rusalka, BAT, and Hydro Spy!)  This card also works very well with “Slayer” creatures! (Slayer-“When this creature loses a battle, banish the other creature”) .With Hovercraft on the field you can hit one of your opponents big creatures, banish it, and gain card advantage. However, there is still on important question to answer. How do I protect this creature?  The answer is simple, weak blockers! They protect Hovercraft Glu-urrgle and they can be re summoned or put into mana if they’ve outlived their usefulness. Overall this card can help you take complete control of the game if used with the right creatures, and it’s a Cyber Lord, so you can even evolve this if you need too!

Pros: +An ability that lets you reuse valuable creatures

          +It’s a Cyber Lord

          +It’s a Gargle card! =)

Cons: -Low power

-If you tap this (Just do yourself a favor and keep this untapped) then you’ll have to work to keep this card on the field.

Rating: 3.75
