Hello and welcome back to
another week of reviews here at Pojo.com! I hope you
all had a great weekend! In case you didn't see it,
make sure to check out my Twitter account for a
picture of the newest Monarch, Eternal Haven! It was
revealed at the celebration event in Kansas this
past Saturday and I can comfortably say that it will
have an impact on the game.
On another note, today marks the first day of
classes for a lot of people, myself included, so I'm
sure a lot of you will be busy, but that doesn't
mean you shouldn't continue to read our awesome
content and reviews! Let's get started on today's
card, Dragon's Breath.

Abilities:
Shield
Blast (instead of putting this spell into your
hand from a broken shield, you may cast it for
free.)
Banish target enemy creature that has power 3000 or

Banish target enemy creature that has power 2000 or
less.
Banish target enemy creature that has power 1000 or
less.
Dragon's Breath gave us our
first spell card with three separate effects on it.
You are basically able to banish three potential
creatures as long as they meet the requirements. One
needs to be 3000 or less power, the next 2000
or less, and finally, 1000 or less.
This was often interchanged
with cards like Barrage that would wipe the entire
battle zone of creatures with 2000 power or less on
your opponent's side. With the addition of being
able to banish a creature with 3000 power, Dragon's
Breath gave us more utility to take down more cards
that were being run in control variants such as
Razorkinder Puppet or Star Lantern. This card
alongside Heat Seekers prompted players to move on
to some larger Blockers in the form of Jade Monitor
or Keeper of Clouds instead.
Dragon's Breath was most
successful at taking down decks that ran a lot of
Fire Birds and often would punish early rush
strategies. As the meta shifted the card was seen
less and less especially after the release of Clash
of the Duel Masters where we got several viable
Blockers with over 3000 defense for the same 2-3
mana cost. Currently Dragon's Breath has seen little
to no play at least in my area but that doesn't mean
that it can't make a comeback somewhere down the
line.
Ratings:
Constructed:
1.75/5.00 (It won't be banished by anything
except spells and Slayers 99% of the time.)
Limited:
3.50/5.00 (In a limited format with Dragonstrike
Infernus, there are a ton of targets to choose from.
This card will easily be able to banish 1-2
creatures when used but often will only be
successful if hit through a shield blast, otherwise
it's a little less practical.)
