  Glena Vuele, The Hypnotic
Fatal Brood

Card # DM1

Date Reviewed: 02.23.05

Constructed Average Rating: 4
Limited Average Rating: 4

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst. 3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating.

Ferret Mage Glena Vuele, The Hypnotic
Light Civilization
Guardian
Cost: 5
Power: 8500
Effect:
-Evolution-Put on one of your Guardians
-Double Breaker
-Whenever your opponent uses the "shield trigger" ability of one of his shields, you may add the top card of your deck to your shields face down.
Flavor: FLAVOR FLAV!!!!!

Race: What can I say about Guardians? Quite a lot actually, since Cecillbill's Phal Eega Control deck is one the best around. Want more? Try Mist Rias, which can be great for gaining hand advantage. More? La Ura Giga, one of the most commonly ran Light Blockers. All of these happen to be of a lesser or same cost as Glena. Good Evo bait and good support via Micule.

Cost: Nice cost for a nice creatures. Just before Terror Pit so that means it'll probably pull off and attack before reaching the chance to be Pitted. What more can I say?

Power: 8500 is great for 5 mana considering most early evos went 6 for 8000. The extra 500 puts it out of all of Fire's kill spells.

Effect: Double Breaker is a very attractive prospect as 5 mana with the only weakness being it has to have evo bait. Then you look at it's third ability and that's what even more attractive. Your opponents loses a shield, gains a trigger, you gain a shield. While it won't make up for losing that Pitted Daidalos it'll still help if you manage to lay down a Pit of your own!

Constructed: 4/5 Stall, Attack, Defend, Destroy. It does it all.
Limited: 2/5 Not too many Guardians in Limited, thus, limited appeal.
Art: 4/5 Burp.

Black Chaos Dragon Black_chaos_dragon is back for card I tried at the last 5 Civ.

Name: Glena Vuele, the Hypnotic
Cost: 5
Race: Guardian
Civilization: Light
Type: Evolution

Rules Text:
Evolution-Put on one of your Guardians.
Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.) Whenever your opponent uses the "shield trigger"
ability of one of his shields, you may add the top card of your deck to your shields face down.
Flavor Text:
"Quick! Look over there!"
Power: 8500
Rarity: V

Cost: 5 mana for a 8500 double breaker. Not to shabby, but it is a evolution, so that hurts it a little.
4/5

Effect: I loved the effect of this card. If my opponent uses a shield trigger, I gain a shield.
Granted I don't have any control which card it is, but a shield is a shield nonetheless.
4/5

Constructed: 3/5, Very good card, but it doesn't fit in all decks that use light.

Limited: 2/5, With only two Guardians is Fatal Brood, it's just not that useful in this format.

Eric Draven Name: Glena Vuele, the Hypnotic
Cost: 5
Race: Guardian
Civilization: Light
Type: Evolution
Rules Text:
Evolution-Put on one of your Guardians.
Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Whenever your opponent uses the "shield trigger" ability of one of his shields, you may add the top card of your deck to your shields face down.
Flavor Text:
"Quick! Look over there!"
Power: 8500

Civ/Race: Light/Guardian. There's some good Guardians in the game, so it'll be easy enough to evo up to this (I wish more people would play Light though.)

Cost: 5 mana is fine as is.

Power: 8500. Can't be Searing Wave'd, etc.

Effect: The effect is the interesting part. Whenever your opponent uses the "Shield Trigger" ability, you get a new Shield. And Double Breaker. Very sweet. One problem though, once your opponent gets his our her 'game on', they'll probably stop using "Shield Trigger", unless it's Like Holy Awe, or Terror Pit. Just so they can get rid of Glena.

Constructed: 4/5 Lots of Shield Triggers, and Evo bait make this a good card.

Limited: 2/5 Less Guardians

Art: 3/5 nice enough, I suppose.
