The Aviax
Cowboy is one of those miniatures that I really
hoped would work out, but just didn’t. Its
ability – Mindlock – can allow you to control
your opponent’s miniatures at a spawn cost equal
to the creature’s spawn cost.
In the end, this ability is a lot of fun to
frustrate your opponent with, but hardly game
changing. In the end, you have spent a heck of a
lot of spawn for no long-term effect. Really, I
could spend 13 spawn to take control of an
opponents Unsated Ragedrake. Why would I do that
though when that 13 spawn could be put to so
much better use. Even if I had the
nigh-unplayable Shard Troll, I would rather dump
the 13 spawn into obliterating the same red
dragon.
In the end, despite a cool sculpt, the Aviax
Cowboy just hasn’t panned out and remains one of
those minis that are relegated to the “play for
fun” pile.

Worst 5 Matchups: Anything with a little power.
Constructed: 1/5 – Doesn’t synergize with much
of anything reliably.
Limited: 2/5 – A little better, but not my much.
Artwork: 3/5 – YEEE-HAW!!!
