Doomsinger

Best. Madness fig. EVAR.

'nuff said, really. I mean, there is a leetle room for improvement, like giving at least one more point to each stat, but Warpstrike 5 makes this creepy chica sniper supreme on the dreamscape. Too bad it isn't multiblade like Book of Nothing, but hey, you are probably going to be playing both anyway, at least in constructed. And don't even mention Unspeakable Freak, because while he may be the dream equivalent of a bazooka, 7 spawn points AND being in a scoring cell makes him one heck of an expensive, situational piece of artillery. Doomsinger wins on dependability EVERY time. Her little brother, Gun-Posessed Killer, is also decent, but come on, it's the big sister of the family that is bringing home the bacon. You play madness, you play Doomsinger. No debate.

Constructed: 4.5/5 I wasn't joking when I said she was the best Madness fig ever. Spellbound Scissors is pretty good, but frankly, they are just reusable weenies. Doomsinger, on the other hand, wins games.

Limited: 4/5 Use her even if you AREN'T going Madness. She will be a little harder to use, which is why I took off half a point, but once she hits the field, it is ON.

Today we have another Madness Maven to review. If you think Doomsinger has looks that can kill, you're right. At a 9-drop she qualifies for the heavyweight division. For this you get some fairly modest stats. 4 Power, 4 Defense and 10 Life are far from dominating, but still solid. Only the Defense is really lacking, and this is a common shortcoming with Madness figs. So with so-so stats, is this venomous vixen really worth considering for your Madness warband? Simple answer: Yep. She comes fully equipped with Warpstrike 5, which makes all the difference. After movement abilities Warpstrike is, in this reviewer's opinion, the most potent blade ability going. Of course not all Warpstrikes are created equal, and at 5, this one can get the job done. Sure, Unspeakable Freak cuts loose with 7 dice, but it also costs you a whopping 7 spawn points to trigger. All-seeing Mage's Janus Warpstrike may be theoretically capable of a bigger strike as well, but in practice it is difficult to do better than 4. Team this girl with Faceless Stalker to maximize your chances at rolling a blade. Her 5-die assault lets you lob collateral damage in to aid attacks in other cells or pick off unengaged cherry-pickers. This sexy siren is a must for just about any Madness warband.

Constructed: 4/5

Sealed: 3.5/5 (Her double aspect cost hurts a little.)
Artwork 4/5 (Nice tats!)  ;-)
