this weeks are my pics- if only i had known more minis before i picked...but in anycase, i like the ones i did pick. :-) Today we have Tower Of Faces, or ToF for short, a uncommon location from the new set, Baxar's War. And I love it. Let me start by saying this mini is HUGE. Some x2/3 times bigger than say, Pearlthorn Castle. And it has stats to match:

Tower of faces
5MM
location
double blade ability: warpstrike 7

Thats rite folks- a location that uses your rolled blades to activate this huge minis effect, and get to make a 7 power attack! This is like, the less expensive/better version of Unspeakable Freak. Not only does it NOT have to be in a scoreing cell (although it would be wise for it to be....), BUT its also a location, so the only way for it to go away is if your opponents running the meteocre sluaghter boots!
I <3 this mini.

set it up in a cell or two early, set some beaters with it, and blow away!
YAAAAAAAY!

limited: 5/5
constructed: 5/5
sculpt: 4.5/5
hope you liked this Baxar of a review! If you liked it, or even didn't, contact me on pojo's forums as "King Atlantis" or go e-mail me at king_atlantis@earthlink.net

Tower of Faces

5MM
Location

Abilities:
Double-blade: Warpstrike 7

Gettin' killed with too much work this week, so no time for a full review. But I just wanted to add a few comments. I pulled this sweet puppy from a pack this past weekend and gave it a trial run. I plopped it down in the center cell (which I highly recommend as the best spot for it). The center cell almost always sees the most action during a game. In the game I played I spent a lot of time holding that cell with the Virtuous Maiden, Raging Vanguard and Nevret Warmaster. With the Maiden pumping the other two, I was rolling 10 dice with 5 rerolls, so I got double blades often. That warpstrike is huge for clearing other cells. This can be a really effective piece. I also placed my Arch of Triumph in the 1-point space immediately to the right of the center cell, so I was bringing in reinforcements and moving them directly into the center immediately. I got behind 3-2 early, but once I had this arrangement in place, I didn't lose another turn.

Constructed: 4/5

Sealed: 3.5/5 (Because of the double aspect cost and the need to pack its cell with enough firepower to get it to go off, this is a little harder to put together effectively in limited.)

Artwork 3.5/5 (Looks like a wizard's keep where a magic experiment got out of control.)

That Guy That Plays DreamBlade

TOWER OF FACES

Ok so today, we are hooked up introducing one of the new, more sizeable locations that towers pretty high over some Base Set minis. Tower of Faces to be exact. No stats for locations, except for its spawn cost of 5MM. This won't matter so much as you should be planning to spawn it anyway and you should have at least 2 characters going into turn 3 (I like around 4 characters at least). This may be harder if you attempt to splash in this location, but still, 6 or even 7 spawn points for this baddy is no big deal. Here's the effect it gets for being so huge: Double Blade Warpstrike 7. Yes 7. Its basically like having a guy with a sniper at the top of the tower nailing all your enemies for you. For now, Warpstrike 7 is only limited to this, Unspeakable Freak (who is hard to set up and you have to give up alot of spawn points), and the new Ooktolok (whos Warpstriking target is chosen by the opponent). Now you may be thinking, Double Blade effects are hard to pull off. Well then yeah...I guess you're right. But Madness have some bigger drops that can offer that kind of attack power. Plus, Madness has currently two guys that can reroll some of your dice to try and get more blades. Its risky, but the payoff is big. This may not fit into the DHC build, but give it a shot. I played against one and got nailed by it about 3 times XD.

Constructed - 3.5/5 - Locations need to be good to be included over characters, and this guy's potential makes him worth it.

Sealed - 4/5 - With access to Passion's power and methods of swarming, this piece gets a boost.

Artwork - 4/5 - First location I saw from the set, and my jaw dropped.
