Just Wild Beats. . .in an-i-mat-ion

Animé (especially NG Evangelion), in general, has soundtracks often unmatched by any other media. The theme songs are great, much better than hearing "a three hour tour. . .a three hour tour". The BG Music is unmatched (except maybe by a John Williams score). Everything sets the mood quite well. But American dubbers don't get the drift.

Most are smart, for the most part, as in that they keep all the BG music, but delete the theme songs because of "time restraints" (Note that this should never be done on DVD's. EVER.). And of course FUNi set a low that not even Pokémon matches with their decision to make their own score. But, again, where are my "Rhythm Emotion's", "Cha La Head Cha La's" and (we will all probaly say this fall) "Dreams"? Lets get up and star a riot about this! Kill! Terror! Break! Destroy! Frightening!

Riiiiiiight. The truth is, though you can blame FUNi (hmm, that happens a lot), you really cant blame other dubbers (except Digimon, whose theme-song makes "Rock the Dragon" seem like "Kanon in D") for their choice to kill the theme-song. So next time you miss pictures of the Gundam Wing characters flashing accross your screen for over a minute while "Just Commication" plays, remember that sacrifices must be made to bring animé to the states.
