Return to Pojo's Dragonball

Q: OK, this first question is about your web site. Now your site is a fan art page, now even though your page is relatively new do you ever get sick of just doing fan art?

A: Well, to tell the truth, I believe my website is more fanfiction-oriented than fanart simply because I've done a lot of fanfiction in the past. And as for getting sick of fanart, no. I actually enjoy seeing fanart by people with better artistic abilites than me, especially when they've taken the time to contribute their work to my website. ~_^

Q: Any future plans of expanding what areas your site covers or any new fan oriented sections?

A: I plan on adding more things to each of the sections but I believe my Miscellaneous section will grow the most. Also, recently I've been trying to work on another section to add to the Miscellaneous page which involves site visitors to add their own quotes (somewhat like what the "What DBZ People Would Never Say" and "How to tell you're addicted to..." sections). I also hope to get more fanfiction written in the future to put on my website.

Q: What made you want to start a web site?

A: At first I wanted to start a website because I wanted to put all my fanfiction in one place, making it easier to find my works that were kind of spread across the web. Also, when I thought of the concept of making my website more and more I found I also wanted to have a place to make original sections such as the "Picfics" and "Things That People Say But Don't Always Apply" pages.

Q: Is this you first web site or have you created web sites in the past? If so, what were they called and what were they about?

A: Well, not really. I did helped out a friend and a friend's friend make what is known as "The Piccolo Project"-a site whose purpose is to satisfy a Piccolo fan's needs-but I couldn't contribute a lot to the effort because of my lack of HTML skills at the time so I basically helped here and there with some fanfics and Misc. ideas. I still consider "Dendeshe's Lookout" as my first site though.

Q: Your page design is very straight out, what I mean is that you don't have a lot of detail. Is this how you want your page design and do you have any plans of changing the design?

A: Yes, I do plan on changing the main page's design. I first have it straight out just so then it was easy to navigate and I'm kind of waiting for some friends to get some graphics done to put on the main page. I do have a plan though for a new main page look so then it looks a little bit more professional and interesting.

Q: OK, let's talk about FUNimation for awhile. Now, what did you think of Season 3?

A: When I first saw a Season 3 episode, the first noticed the voices. Krillen's was too "cartoonish"-sounding, Gohan sounded almost the same as Season 1 and 2 which I was okay with, but when I heard Piccolo's new voice I was practically horrified. I had heard the new voices were bad but Piccolo sounded like Batman or something! As I was really going to miss Scott McNeil, I watched the rest of the videos. I thought the action was pretty good but Dende's inserted line while calling for Porunga and Krillen's lost marriage joke could make any Dragonball Z fan's who knew they've been changed head shake.

Q: Do you see any hope for FUNimation in the future?

A: I hate to say this but I don't think so. Since some points of the FUNimation version of Dragonball Z are going up while others are going down, I'd say they're kind of at the same level they were at earlier.

Q: If FUNimation could only dub one of the remaining DBZ videos, which video would you choose to be brought to America?

A: I'd want Movie 6 to be brought to America, simply because it's my favorite Dragonall Z movie I've seen so far. I'd be a bit worried about the editing though.

Q: Who is your favorite character in DB and why?

A: Piccolo's my favorite by far. I don't really think there's only one reason I like him but my liking of him probably has to mostly do with his personality-composed yet sensitive on the inside. Also, gotta love those entrances. ^_^

Q: What are some of your favorite fan oriented pages on the internet?

A: I love tons of fan-oriented websites but I believe my favorite are "Gohan's and Piccolo's Power Pad" and "Temple O' Trunks" because of its great humor. ^_^

Q: Now even though your web site is fan oriented material, have you had any problems with page pirates?

A: As far as I know, I haven't really had problems with page pirates so far. On one occasion though, a friend of mine saw a website that had a fanfic with a similar title as one of mine. When I look back on it now, I think it was probably a coincidence.

Q: What do you think of page pirates, do they belong on the internet?

A: I think that page pirates are people that are too narrow-minded to think of anything original or unique for their websites so they try to rip-off other's hard work by stealing their site's content. I also believe that page pirates don't belong on the internet, at least in the webmaster community.

Q: Why did you start a web site, for self satisfaction, to spread the word on DB, to show of your fan art, or for some other reason?

A: Well, I started a website for self-satisfaction and to [kind of] show off my fanfiction (and fanart once I get to scanning things). I think that I made a website to entertain and use my unique ideas mostly though.

Q: Now for the last question of this interview, where you a little surprised when I asked you for an interview?

A: Yes, I was quite surprised. This is because after looking at some of the sites that have been interviewed in the past, I kind of felt that my newer website couldn't really be put up to scale with some of the "Elite" sites. Oh well, at least now I know I may be getting there. ^_^

ssj4gokuh- Thanks a lot for the interview, I really enjoyed it.

Dendeshe- You're welcome and thankyou for interviewing me. ^_^
