[Rated] R Blood, gore, and destruction.....what else is new?? ---------------------------------The Hunt----------------------------------- Part Four [by] Ben Weeks [note] Thanks go out to the crowd of #spiritworld in mIRC for not really inspiration, but for something to do during those long nights when I'm out of coffee. I'd also like to thank my computer, without whom this story would have been impossible. And of course, this may sound stupid, but I'd like to thank FUNimation for putting DBZ in an area where I could reach it, thus allowing me to be introduced, albeit wrongly, to the world of DBZ. And thanks to the fansubbers for the DBZ fansubs. And thanks to Vegeta for being the badass he is^_^. I just realised my best friend in the whole world is my leather jacket. It's so comfortable. And when it gets late, and I realise I haven't slept in quite awhile, I loll my head to the left for a bit and drool excessively. Enough chit-chat. Let's get back to what I've prepared to write for several days, planning the fight, drawing crappy little cartoons to diagram out each major section. I've tried to keep it long and gratifying, but short enough so it doesn't get boring or wear on your nerves. I hope you find it successful. Many of you may say: "Hey! You got that fight scene from such and such." Well, guess what? You're probably right! Many of these fight scenes are obviously from the series, altered slightly to fit my story. Does that anger you? I sure hope not, because they really make my story come alive. I have a hint, for the few people who read this, to increase your enjoyment of not just my fanfics, but ANY ones that have battle scenes. Since it's impossible to place the blood-pounding excitement of the screen onto a story, we have to rely on descriptive words to help. And if you want to enhance the realism, you should try and imagine the area that the fight takes place in. Imagine the combatants fighting, imagine the attacks, imagine the very cool scenes of Ki power, imagine the pain, the heat, the sweat, the dust, the grit, the power, and the blood-lust. Imagine all of these things. Imagine the cocky way Vegeta grins. Imagine the fast pace of flying. Imagine the deafening yells of power that erupt from a Z-fighter's chest. Imagination is the key. Mentally prepare yourself. Ready? Then let it begin..... "The end approaches. For good or evil." --Dragons of Spring Dawning Vegeta. Against all odds, against all hopes, he had arrived on Earth. In time to save Piccolo? No. But Gohan? Yes. Not that he cared, of course. But he had made it. Gokou felt astonishment well up in him, and maybe just a little fear. Now that his whole body was attuned to his ancient saiya-jin instincts, he felt slight fear of his instinctive prince. Vegeta stood on the ground appx. 100 meters from where Gokou floated, his skin stretched with muscles that rippled under his dark blue jumpsuit. He looked a little thin, but that was just how Vegeta was. He also looked very much a prince, with the haughty way he threw his head into the air, how he held himself, how his smirk promised pain upon any who displeased him. His black hair blew around in the wind dramatically, almost as if the gods were creating a movie sequence out of the affairs of mortals below. Finally, after a few uncomfortable moments in which Gohan lost consciousness and Kurillin's nerves popped several times, Vegeta spoke. His voice was soft, but powerful. And it could be heard all across the small cove they were in. "Kakarotto....what do you think you are doing?" Gokou's evil smile matched Vegeta's. "I'm killing all these pathetic trash. Or at least I was, until I realized I forgot to kill you in the process. Idiotic Zarians..can't even handle a wimpy saiya-jin like yourself. Oh well, here you are. I'm surprised you managed to live this long." His words were biting and cruel, but to a trained badass such as Vegeta, mere amateur insults were slightly amusing. He just smirked more and crossed his arms, turning his head slightly while watching his opponent. "You're such a dumbass, Kakarotto. You make the same foolish mistake Freeza made, the same mistake you made that my son was forced to correct. You never finish off the opponent. And now it will be your death." Gokou gritted his teeth in anger as Vegeta snorted. "I must admit, I never personally thought I would be killing you while defending these earthlings. But I guess it seems fitting, somehow. You should never have let the Zarians get ahold of you." Vegeta's voice rose with a passion as he began to say things that surprised even him. "They've drugged you. Don't you understand?? Is the real Kakarotto in there?" "Fool! I am the real Kakarotto, no longer a waste of power. I am a true saiya-jin who knows how to use my strength!" Vegeta took a step forward, watching with pleasure as Gokou involuntarily flinched. He brought his head back around to face Gokou. "You don't know how to use your strength. Even though you are no longer a pathetic earthling, you are still a third class saiya-jin." Gokou landed grimly on the ground, the blood on his face drying slowly. Vegeta turned so that his side was facing Kakarotto and pointed his finger like a pistol. "You are going to die at my hands this day." Gokou started to laugh cruelly. "You truly are amazing, Vegeta. Why, I thought you'd be smarter than that. You know as well as I do that my power is far greater than yours. Although the thought of a fight with a strong opponent excites me, I'll give you a chance. Join me, and I may let you live. Join me or die." Vegeta refused to dignify that with an answer. Shifting his weight, he silently moved his left foot back about two feet. He right foot was moved forward, it's booted outside clamping softly in the dusty sand. He brought up his arms up in a prefered offensive posture, making sure that he could keep a sharp eye on his opponent. The wind whistled around them as Kurillin ran silently and nervously up to Gohan's unconscious form. Reaching down in the dirt, he grabbed his broke and bloody body. Clutching Gohan's head to his chest, he flew quickly away from them, heading toward Karin Tower in the far beyond..... Vegeta ignored him. Gokou stood stock still, his arms crossed and his posture cocky and unassuming. Look at the idiot, thought Vegeta. He underestimates me. Actually, I think he overestimates himself. I can feel his power has been decreased somehow. A side effect of the drug? Perhaps. Doesn't matter. He's mine. Vegeta felt his energy gather. The wind blew as creatures collected around the perimeter of the cove to watch anxiously the battle, not sure who exactly to root for. Vegeta felt wind blow in his hair as exhiliration and battle lust pumped through his veins like hot soup, making him giddy. His heartrate increased as adrenaline shot through him like a wildfire. Small circles of blue energy began to roll off of Vegeta, curling away from his outlined features with a brilliant shining light. Miniature electric bolts shot blindingly fast around his body occasionally as the wind slowly began to pick up. Gokou felt uneasy as his hair began to silently rise higher into the air. The whole atmosphere tingled with energy and static. It felt so thick he could barely breathe. Vegeta suddenly clenched his fists and closed his eyes. Veins popped at his temples and on his neck as he screamed at the top of his lungs. Blue Ki flames flared around him with blinding power and energy, making Gokou shield his eyes. The sound was unbearable. It reached incredible decibels, causing the ground to shake with fury. The water, a mile or so away, receded violently away from Vegeta's power. The sound of his voice could be heard across the world, echoing from every mountain and making every house and window shake and rattle. Vegeta's yell reached it's apex and glass shattered thousands of miles away as his hair flashed blonde. The flames around him popped into yellow and the ground below him was torn up into huge boulders and sent hurling into the sky. Gokou shielded himself from the wind as Vegeta cried out with unimaginable power. His pupils flashed into green and his body became a living powerhouse of Ki energy. Gokou felt awe steal over him as the yell slowly stopped with the wind. Boulders came tumbling down to the ground and hit the earth with tremendous force. Vegeta's voice continued to echo off of the distant mountains. Vegeta stood on a small island of land admist craters formed by his power, his whole body surrounded by yellow flames. His hair glistened and waved a brilliant golden blonde, reflecting the light from his Ki. His face was cocky and arrogant, his body exuding energy and strength. His eye's were lit up with lust for blood and killing. Gokou wiped sweat off of his brow and gritted his teeth, pulling his left foot back and bringing his hands forward cautiously. With a grin, Vegeta placed his right hand high in the air above his head, palm up. His features were shadowed wickedly as purple energy rushed into a slowly growing ball above his outstretched arm, turning the very colours of the entire area a dark violet hue. With a rush of power, wind started to swirl around Vegeta harshly, ruffling his hair and throwing dirt in all directions. Gokou smirked. "HERE'S YOUR ANSWER!" Vegeta's voice echoed around the cove. Suddenly, the sound of a richochet pinged across the small area, as the ball zoomed up from Vegeta's hand. Vegeta kept his eyes on Gokou and brought his other arm up, stretching himself to the sky. Gokou looked up in astonishment and peered at the ball of Ki energy that shone bright in the air like a second sun, casting light over all of the cove. Vegeta let out a loud grunt of power and brought his arms down in a rush, bending at the waist as if he'd just thrown a ball at Gokou. Gokou was suddenly enveloped in a huge stream of Ki blasts that tore up the ground around him, ripping huge boulders up and melting them into liquid plasma and magma. Vegeta grinned as his opponent's form was quickly lost from sight in an evergrowing explosion of energy. Ki beams continued to stream down at the ground from the Ki ball high in the sky, ripping the earth to shreds and forming a huge dome of violently pulsating explosive Ki energy around the cove, centered on Gokou. Vegeta suddenly gasped. "What..!?" Gokou flew out of the dome, Ki rolling off his body like water, and with an explosive sound that made the ground shake, punched Vegeta's face with his powerful knuckles. Vegeta's surprised form fell away from Gokou at blinding speeds, trailing blood behind it. The ground broke away under him and rocks flew up after him as he continued to fly towards the mountains. Gokou suddenly appeared in his path and with a loud yell of "KIAI!" kicked Vegeta in the stomach, sending his agonized body hurtling into the sky faster than a jet. With a grunt, yellow Ki flames surrounded Gokou and he flew up at Vegeta's form with unbelievable speed and power. Vegeta turned and caught himself, watching as Gokou quickly approached. Vegeta growled, his face contorted with anger. He brought his hands together at his groin, pointing down at Gokou and gathering Ki energy. Gokou suddenly was in front of Vegeta but he turned and swerved around his deadly Ki-filled hands, flying into the distance with speed and agility. Vegeta followed his movements and watched as he banked, bringing his hands up and hurling the ball of energy after Gokou. As soon as the ball left Vegeta's hands, Gokou zipped back impossibly fast and kicked Vegeta in the face, sending him hurtling towards the mountains. Vegeta's face was burning with pain as his mind screamed with anger and disbelief. He suddenly filled himself with resolve and swore to never again underestimate Kakarotto. As his body zipped towards the mountains, Gokou watched eagerly, waiting to see Vegeta's body badly damaged as he was buried in the hard stone. Right before Vegeta slammed into the mountain, he reached out with a white-gloved hand and placed it against the rock surface, barely catching himself. His fingers burrowed into the stone as his body's momentum continued to push him forward, but with a yell of power and anger, he propelled himself away from the mountain at incredible speeds. His back was to Gokou, and he knew that his opponent would try to take advantage of that. In fact, he was counting on it. He wasn't disappointed. Gokou, trying to make good use of Vegeta's turned view, zipped in and punched at Vegeta's back. But his hand buried itself in only air. With a grunt of pain, Gokou was slammed forward. He turned, his face twisted with pain and rage. He rubbed his kidney as Vegeta came flying towards him. Gokou punched but Vegeta nimbly ducked under it and grabbed Gokou's waist. Vegeta suddenly surrounded himself with yellow Ki and he zipped towards the mountain at cheektugging speeds. With a cry of energy, he clutched Gokou tightly and threw him at the mountain with all his might. With a gigantic explosion, Gokou slammed into the mountain. The earth rumbled and shook as the mountain's body collapsed in on Gokou, the ancient titan crumbling down on top of the fallen saiya-jin. Vegeta outstretched his arm with a snap and sent three beams flying towards the crumbling mountain, causing huge yellow explosions of energy that erupted into the sky, flames licking the rocks and melting them, sending a colossul cloud of smoke pouring into the air, choking the sky. Vegeta was about to fly forward when he suddenly saw a beam screaming towards him from the base of the destruction. He ducked just in time to see the Ki blast fly over him, casting a red hue all over his body and making his hair shake violently. Gokou was zipping behind the blast and punched Vegeta down to the hard earth below. Vegeta fell on his hands and knees, and Gokou flashed down like a bullet and with the power of a freight train, punched the ground where Vegeta had been only seconds before. Instead, Vegeta had pushed himself out of the way barely in time. Gokou's fist caused a small burst of dust and rock to fly out in all directions as the ground shook under his power. Vegeta leapt back and landed on one knee, clenching his left fist and looking around for Gokou. Finally, after much searching, he stood up. Suddenly Gokou appeared in front of him, moving down to his lower left. Vegeta punched but Gokou crouched under it, and like a spring, he hurled up under and uppercutted Vegeta's chin, sending him flying through the air. Vegeta caught himself and peered down at Gokou in fury, gathering energy in his hands. Gokou stood on the ground tall and evil, his arms crossed. Blood dripped freely down both of their bodies, although Vegeta had it worse. Vegeta was about to hurl his attack when suddenly, out of nowhere, a blast caught him in the sides, heating his armour up and scorching his skin. He screamed in pain and that was when Gokou appeared above him and gathered energy into both of his hands, then with a loud grunt of power, hit Vegeta with both hands towards the ground. But that wasn't enough to sate Gokou's thirst for blood. As Vegeta screamed towards the earth with no hope of recovery, Gokou powered up a Ki blast and hurled it at his opponent. It caught Vegeta in the stomach and substantially speeded up his fall. When he hit, the blast exploded and buried him in the earth, covering up the crater with rock and dirt. The dust that had been thrown into the air by the mountain and the explosion and the fighting slowly started to clear. Gokou landed quietly on the ground and turned to see Tienshinhan standing there, a small grin on his face. Yamucha was there as well; as was Chiao-tzu. They all apeared satisfied and happy, as if they had done the world a great favor. Idiots, thought Gokou, as he walked towards them. He absentmindedly searched for Vegeta's Ki, but it had disappeared. Disappeared because Vegeta was dead. "Hiya Gokou!" Yamucha said, his face twisted into an idiotic grin. Gokou smirked evilly and spread his feet slightly apart, subtly digging them into the ground. Tienshinhan frowned, sensing something wrong. Chiao-tzu floated up to Gokou, a smile on his face. Suddenly Gokou's arm flew out and smacked Chiao-tzu into the distance, knocking his small body unconscious. Tienshinhan gasped and Yamucha's face was twisted in bewilderment. "What the fuck!? Gokou??" Gokou just smiled. Tienshinhan looked at the bloody body of his best friend and rage welled up in him. He lunged forward at Gokou. Yamucha cursed and followed suit. Tien punched at Gokou, which was blocked by Gokou's elbow, then he whirled around with a kick, which was blocked as well. Yamucha sliced at Gokou's neck, which was blocked. With a flash, they surrounded themselves with Ki and broke, fear dancing over their bodies. They had no idea how lucky they were. Tienshinhan's mouth was open, his eye's wide, his body shaking as he saw something malevolent flashing in Gokou's eyes. Yamucha clenched his fists and backed up, trying to comprehend what was going on. Gokou outstretched his hand and with a snap of Ki energy, fired a yellow beam that caught Tienshinhan across the arm. The arm melted away instantly. Tienshinhan screamed loudly, then fell to the ground as blood poured out onto the green grass. He was shaking with shock and pain. Yamucha's eyes were stretched wide, and Gokou pointed his hand towards him. Yamucha cried out in fear, his eye's hovering on Gokou's arm. Gokou smiled as he prepared his death blow to Yamucha, gathering energy at his palm. Yamucha refused to run, his body shaking, his breath coming short. Gokou savoured Yamucha's terror as the beam finished collecting energy. Yamucha's face was lit up from the glow of the Ki energy as Gokou prepared to fire it at his victim. Suddenly, a gloved hand thrust out of the ground and grabbed Gokou's foot, dragging him down. Yamucha gasped in surprise as Vegeta pulled himself up out of the earth, covered in dirt and debris. Gokou whirled around and punched, but Vegeta used his momentum to float above it and smack Gokou in the nose. Gokou threw another punch that Vegeta caught, but the power of the punch swung Vegeta around upside down. Vegeta hovered upside down in the air, looking at Gokou's surprised face above him. He summoned up Ki energy with a flash and his yellow, golden hair glowed as he brought both his hands forward to catch Gokou in the stomach with his beam. The Ki blast propelled Gokou high in the sky, dragging him far, far out of sight. Vegeta landed on his back with a grunt of pain, clutching his burnt side with a grimace. He dragged himself to his feet and gritted his teeth, watching the beam turn into a twinkle in the sky. Suddenly, Vegeta gasped and jumped backwards. The second he jumped, a beam hit the area right where he had been and exploded with incredible force. Vegeta flew backwards, catching himself and landing on the ground. The explosion rocketed into the sky, but Vegeta was ignoring it and looking for Gokou. Gokou flashed in and swung at Vegeta. Vegeta jumped back to avoid it, then jumped back to avoid his kick. Vegeta leapt forward and landed on his hands, propelling himself upwards to kick Gokou with both feet in the chest. Gokou fell back and landed in the crater his earlier beam had just created. Vegeta saw him disappear under the lip and he ran forward, peering over the edge of the smoking crater to see what had happened to his opponent. Big mistake. Gokou reached up and fired the Kamehameha impossibly fast, it's blue coloured Ki racing up to Vegeta. Vegeta cursed in anger, unbelieving of his stupidity. The beam enveloped the saiya-jin prince's chest, burning away armour and flesh and bone and organs. He tried to scream but his esophagus was filled with blood and mucous flowing up into his face and streaming through his nose and mouth and eyes. The pain was incredible. His quickly-numbing body was flung backwards as the beam burned a hole in his chest. Time slowed down for Vegeta. Yamucha watched in growing horror as Vegeta's body fell to the earth, smoking and bloody. Vegeta's hair fell back into it's black, as did his eyes. Vegeta looked up to see Kakarotto slowly walking forward, his blood- stained face contorted in insane glee. Vegeta turned to the side, watching Yamucha slowly crawl back in terror as Vegeta felt his body grow numb, and it was more horrifying than the pain. His vision slowly disappeared as his eye's clouded over with blood. The last thing his eyes saw before blood made him blind was the image of his enemy slowly walking towards Yamucha. He suddenly heard Yamucha cry out, but what he said was impossible to hear through the blood echoing in Vegeta's ears. His life was ebbing out of him into a large pool of blood on the ground. It had been so fast. He had always thought he would have been killed gloriously, but he realized with sickening clarity that there was no glory in any of this. The only thing he could feel was the warm blood that seeped and stained his body, his burnt organs splayed on the ground. He suddenly felt something hit him in the face. He opened his eyes but couldn't see. He couldn't smell. He felt something roll down into his mouth. The maggots are already coming to feed on my dead carcass, he thought dejectedly. I can't believe it ended this way. He suddenly got very mad. So mad, in fact, that it lent him enough strength to bite down on the maggot crawling in his mouth. Dammit, I'm not dead! They won't eat me until I'm dead!!! As he took vicious delight in swallowing his last meal, he felt a pain sweep over him that was terrible. He suddenly heard the sound of fighting and he saw brilliant flashes of orange in front of him. His nose stopped seeping out blood as he felt the pain slowly disappear. He suddenly felt a longing for air in his lungs. He coughed up blood from his mouth in surprise as he felt power return to his body. With hesistation, he stood up, looking down through clear eyes to see his clenched fists. He saw a hole in his blood-stained and burnt armour with surprise. Where there should be a bloody hole, there was instead firm skin. He looked up in dawning comprehension as he saw three orange-clad figures and one blue-clad figure fighting furiously in front of him. He suddenly recognized the taste that lingered in his mouth. A sensu bean. Gokou tore viciously into his three opponents, punching and kicking as blood fell like rain over the battlefield. Yamucha's body was beaten and bloody; Kurillin was quickly dropping in power. The only minor threat was from Gohan. Renewed with a sensu bean, he was more powerful than before, although he certainly didn't have the skill to utilise his power. Gokou punched him in the face, then zipped forward to knee him in the stomach, then brought down his elbow to send his son sprawling in the dirt. Kurillin leapt at him with a high kick, but Gokou blocked it with ridiculous ease and punched him square in the face. Kurillin's mouth was bleeding like a fountain, but he hung in the battle with ferocity, impressing Gokou deep-down for his once-buddy's stubborness and tenacity. Unfortunately, there was little any of them could do against Gokou. He had realized his full power, and was using it to his best capabilites, ripping apart any who had the guts to stand against him. Gohan was lying in the ground, silently and angrily crying. Kurillin was the only one still fighting, his body being nearly rippped apart by Gokou's sheer power. And yet he still held on, alarming Gokou. How could anyone fight on so viciously against someone so much more powerful than them? He felt the same fear any bully feels when he is rebelled against. Deep inside, some part of Gokou knew the answer, and was applauding Kurillin. It was useless, however. Gokou smacked his buddy to the ground and powered up a quick blast to decimate and disintegrate his body into nothingness. "YHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!" Gokou suddenly felt himself hurled off his feet by a huge wave of pure Ki power. He smacked in the ground and saw a tremendous boulder hurtling past him, hitting Kurillin's airborne body and pushing him into the distance at impossible speeds. Yamucha tried to hang on to a tree, but the tree snapped in half and he went flying off. Tienshinhan's unconcious form was dragged into the horizon. Gokou turned and stood up, gritting his teeth and digging his feet into the ground. Wind whistled around him faster than a tornado, ripping the earth to shreds. His eye's were blinded by a brilliant yellow light that covered his entire line of sight. He squinted to see a figure standing in the middle of the light, which was starting to grow dimmer. The yell was impossible to describe as just it's sound ripped entire mountains to pieces. Vegeta stood on a rising hill of earth that was jutting him up higher into the sky, and then with a sickening crash, it fell back down into the middle of a deep crater. Vegeta remained hovering in the air, his power making Gokou shield his eyes from the heat and glare of Ki energy. Finally, the sound of power stopped, as the yell decreased in volume. Rocks began to fall to the ground like rain, dripping around Gokou and hitting him often. He ignored as in front of him Vegeta landed on the ground, his face bloody and grim, his entire body rippling with power. Gokou was shocked and bewildered. He couldn't believe it. Vegeta had been dead!! Suddenly, his mind wandered back to when he had seen Kurillin first arrive. Kurillin had thrown something at Vegeta, but Gokou had suddenly been ferociously attacked by Gohan, and he hadn't had time to think. Yamucha had suddenly discovered his spine and entered the fray, along with Kurillin. He hadn't thought anything of it at the time......but now he comprehended. They planned it! The BASTARDS!!!!!! Vegeta saw his face filled with fury and he sneered, his upper-left lip curling up mockingly. "Kakarotto...you fool. I told you that not finishing off your enemies would be your undoing. And I was right. You thought to let me die a slow and painful death. You underestimated the Prince of Saiya-jins!" Gokou cursed in impotence his idiocy. "It will be your last mistake, Kakarotto." Vegeta spread his legs apart and assumed a fighting stance, power rippling off of his body. His Ki's power level had rocketed up, but Gokou sensed it wasn't too high. Maybe it was still even lower than his. "Now it begins, Kakarotto. In earnest." Vegeta suddenly turned and, astonishingly, ran away. Gokou laughed, realizing Vegeta had been bluffing. He ran after his opponent, determined to finish him off. Something deep inside him knew he was wrong, and this was a trick. However, his deeply burning lust for death and the sight of a fleeing enemy overpowered his thinking. Howling at the top of his voice with pleasure, he ran after Vegeta. Vegeta turned his head to see Gokou following after him. He felt his opponent's Ki off-guard. Vegeta turned around to see his target with a grin. Vegeta arrived at the mountain and suddenly leapt up onto it's face, landing on the sheer-face with one foot. The side of the rock crumbled in under his boot as he used it to propel himself off of the mountain and back at Gokou. Gokou gasped in surprise as Vegeta's foot swung around and caught him in the face, his booted-toe burying itself in his skin. Blood seeped out of the wound on his face as he flew back into the ground, embedding himself into the dirt. Vegeta ran up and punched down into the ground, but Gokou reached up and caught his fist. Gokou underestimated his power, however, as Vegeta's and Gokou's hands were buried into Gokou's stomach. All of his air flew out of his lungs with a woof as Vegeta brought his foot down under Gokou's head, kicking up with a powerful blow from his leg. Gokou's breathless body rose into the air, but Vegeta grabbed it at the head and the feet. With a grunt of power, he brought Gokou's back down onto his rapidly rising knee. Blood popped out of Gokou's mouth with a gurgled yell as Vegeta threw him towards the distance. Vegeta was suddenly surrounded with Ki as he followed his opponent. Vegeta arrived above Kakarotto's flying body, and he reached down and hit him hard in the chest with both of his fists. Gokou fell to the ground with an audible crack that echoed around the small valley. Vegeta raised his right fist and yelled loudly as he sucked in Ki energy at his hand. His powered-up limb then swung down at Gokou with the force of a falling meteor. Gokou wasn't there, however, and his fist hit the ground, creating a small crater under his power. Gokou came hurling in from his side, and he looked up just in time to bring his left arm to block Gokou's kick. Goku hovered in the air for a split second as the blow's effect wore off of them both, then he disappeared as Vegeta punched with force at his body. Vegeta turned suddenly and leapt over a kick meant to trip him, then flew at Gokou and entered into a vicious melee battle with him. Kurillin, Gohan, and Yamucha watched as Gokou and Vegeta tore into each other with reckless disregard for life and limb. Blood poured down like rain. Everytime a punch or kick would land, a spray of blood would coat the onlookers. Kurillin cursed his low power, wishing to Kami he could be of some help. The thought was scary; helping Vegeta against Gokou. But he knew it would be futile anyway; he'd just get in Vegeta's way. And likely get killed in the process. Suddenly, Gokou hit Vegeta and sent him zipping through the air at Kurillin. Vegeta yelled out, and Kurillin almost immediately understood. He clutched the rock in front of him with all of his strength and held on. Vegeta, as he flew by, grabbed his shiny bald head with his gloved hands and slid around, bringing his powerful, booted feet into Gokou's face. As the two sped off to fight some more, Kurillin rubbed his head ruefully. Vegeta landed on the ground next to Gokou and kicked out. Gokou reached up quickly and barely caught his foot. Gokou smirked. Vegeta shrugged and leapt up off of his other leg and kicked Gokou in the groin. Gokou fell to the ground, gasping. Vegeta tore into the sky, his body gathering energy. Looking down at Gokou, he placed his hands at his side. As soon as he stopped rising, he jumped forward a little as he fired his blast. "GALICK-HOOO!!!!" Gokou looked up and powered up a small blast at his side, then jumped hard left and threw the Ki ball into the beam. The beam erupted in an explosion, and Gokou was surprised at it's weankess when suddenly a foot caught him in the face. Gokou went hurtling into the distance. Vegeta flew up high into the sky, watching him disappear into the horizon. Suddenly, with a flash of blinding speed, Gokou was back in Vegeta's face. Gokou punched into Vegeta's body, burying his fist into his stomach. Hard. Vegeta gritted his teeth to ignore the pain as he reached forward to clutch Gokou's ears, bringing his head down into his rising knee. Gokou cried out in pain as Vegeta brought up his left elbow into Gokou's face. Vegeta gathered some Ki energy, and with a rush of power, he fell backwards and sent it hurtling towards Gokou. Gokou leapt forward and punched the beam to the ground, where it hit with a tremendous explosion. Vegeta punched. Gokou blocked. Gokou punched. Vegeta blocked. They traded blows for well over an hour, their muscles starting to ache with fatigue but both willing to work their bodies to death in order to win. Tien slowly began to come back to consciousness. Kurillin gasped as he noticed him for the first time, seeing he no longer had an arm. The ground ripped to pieces as the super powers clashed in flashes of Ki energy like lightning, illuminating brief sections of the battle like a strobe light. Vegeta felt Gokou's body start to give, and he was pleased. His breathing was ragged and his lungs burned; but adrenaline pumped through his veins in pleasure as he fought his saiya-jin enemy to the death. Gokou suddenly grabbed Vegeta's fists and was pushed back by Vegeta's power, his boots digging in the dirt. Vegeta suddenly surrounded himself with yellow Ki energy and hurled Gokou with all of his might into the air. Vegeta placed his fists at his sides, his arms bent sharply and his face contorted in powerful emotions that tugged his soul in every direction. Blue flames snapped into existence around his hands, forming balls of Ki energy that sent ectasy rolling up and down his body. Gokou caught himself in the air with a flash of yellow super-saiya-jin Ki. Looking down at the battlefield below, he saw Vegeta powering up an attack that he could sense was devastating. Gokou gulped, his composure breaking. He decided that he was going to take this battle on HIS ground. Vegeta was about to bring his super-charged arms forward to unleash a deadly Ki blast towards Gokou, but his opponent suddenly zipped off in the far distance, disappearing on the horizon. Vegeta ran forward and leapt into the air, surrounding himself with yellow Ki flames that pulsated powerfully up and down his charged body. He zipped through the air after Gokou. Kurillin watched them disappear dejectedly. He turned and surveyed the scene of destruction they had left behind. Tien was lying on the ground next to Yamucha's beaten form, armless and moaning in pain. Chiao-tzu was slowly but limping back from wherever he had been thrown in the midst of the explosion. The cove had been totally changed. What had once been a thick, mountaineous region was now a flat wasteland devoid of life, covered in huge, smoking boulders and craters. The mountains had crumbled to pieces, leaving in their wake molten streams of lava that ran towards the water, where it solidified with a giant hiss of steam. Kurillin sighed and turned to the wounded, determined to ignore his own injuries in order to help theirs. He was anxious, wondering who would win. If Vegeta wins, then we're pretty much in trouble. He'll take over and make us all his servants, if he doesn't kill us. But if Gokou wins, we're in even worse shape! This really sucks...... Thus was Kurillin occupied while the fight of the millenium was taking place in the far beyond...... Gokou traveled for a few more minutes, then when he arrived over the large metropolis of Satan City, he stopped and turned. With a huge explosive sound, Vegeta slammed his hard, gloved fist into Gokou's face with the force of an ocean liner. Gokou's body went flying down to the ground, but he caught himself. People at the bottom suddenly stopped in their tracks, fearfully in awe of what was happening. Vegeta surrounded himself with yellow flames; so did Gokou. The two titans flew at each with incredible power behind them, preparing to enter into a deadly fistfight. As soon as the two reached each other there was a blinding flash, like a supernova of colliding suns, and then they were gone. However, the sounds of fighting remained. The people looked around nervously, panicked chatter filling the air. Suddenly, a large skyscraper to the left suddenly exploded, sending pieces of shrapnel and debris flying in all directions. Even as the citizens fled from that, another building exploded, then another. A tree suddenly snapped in half, then disappeared. A few moments later, sawdust abruptly rained seemingly out of nowhere. Blood would spatter terrified people every now and then, which made matters much worse. The populace of the city started to flee in fear. It didn't matter. Gokou realized Vegeta had the upper hand, and it scared him. He broke from the fight, as did his opponent. Vegeta had a cocky grin on his blood-stained face. Energy crackled and rolled off of his body, making him seem like an angry god out to get vengeance. An aura of power pulsated invisibly around him, making Gokou hesitant to attack. "What the...Vegeta! What are you doing up there!? I told you not to fight near Satan City!!" Vegeta suddenly turned down to see Bulma standing up on a hill, waving her arms furiously. And that's when it happened. The air suddenly began to tingle with power as the sky darkened, bringing large evil-looking storm clouds to hover high above the terrified citizens. The earth slowly rumbled as a brilliant light in the distance flashed high into the sky. Gokou looked around in confusion. Vegeta narrowed his eyes and watched the storm clouds with suspicion. Gokou saw him turned away, and was about to leap forward, when he caught an image of Bulma with his peripheral vision. He grinned wickedly, an evil thought entering his head. Vegeta saw movement out of the corner of his eye and whirled, only to see Gokou disappear. He blinked in suprise, then gasped. Bulma screamed as Gokou grabbed her and placed his hand on her head, smiling sadistically. She kicked and squirmed, but it was nothing. Vegeta cursed in anger and nearly flew down to pry him loose, when Gokou upturned his head. "ANY CLOSER AND SHE DIES!" Vegeta scowled. "So what?" Bulma was furious, and Gokou wasn't sure quite sure what to do about that. He nearly dropped her as Vegeta flew forward, but he gathered energy into his hand that was on her head and yelled. Vegeta froze in midair, cursing his weakness. Gokou smiled as he called Vegeta's bluff. With a grin, he lifted her into the air with him and watched Vegeta glare at him impotently. Gokou clutched her tight, then with a flash of power, zipped off back towards the cove. Vegeta blinked in perplexion, then followed. ----------------------------End of Part Four--------------------------------
