Subject: Re: Could You Help Me With My Pathetic Deck, Please? Cell Red TS ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: Jacob I Ames Date: Fri, 7 Nov 2003 19:47:59 -0700 Okay, I know this deck is pretty cruddy. >> I'll have to agree with you. << I'm just missing some stuff that makes it incomplete. >> Yep. << Could you help me figure out what it is and tell me what sets I should probably get to help. That would help. >> Red had most of its best stuff in TS. KBS also has some nice >> additions as well. But overall there's a little bit in each saga. I >> think. << This is an anger deck with a little bit of physical beatdown in it. What would this deck need to compete in tournaments, and would this main personality work? Main Personality Cell, Stage One-CS Cell, Stage Two-CS Cell, Perfect-CS Cell, the Destroyer-CS Cell, the Master-CS >> Cell is fine for anger. Back in the day he was a prime option; now >> he's a bit over shadowed, but he can still work. You should use the >> HT Cell 1 just because it is better, no other reason. And use the HT >> Cell 3 because it can give you a precious anger. << Mastery Red Style Mastery-TS >> Cool with the Mastery, but where's the Sensei? You might as well run >> one. I use West Kai in my anger decks because I'm strange that way, >> but you should go with North Kai. He can give you two quick turns to >> slow down your opponent. Don't forget a solid Sensei deck. Try out >> some Sniping Shots, HUH???, Red Pressured Attack, Black Scout >> Maneuvers, and so forth. << Location x1 Kami's Floating Island-RS >> Um... while this makes sense, I instead would recommend running City >> In Turmoil. You could go 2 CIT 1 KFI or something if you really like >> it. Key is Anger decks nowadays need speed, and using a lot of >> non-combats cuts down on your speed with attacked. You might as well >> disrupt other archtypes while you are at it. << Physical Combat (Attacks) x2 Red Round Kick-SS - Cut x1 Red Back Kick-SS - Sure x1 Red Knee Eruption-TS - Terrible x1 Tien's Physical Attack-SS - Doesn't give anger x1 Red Lunge Punch-SS - Terrible x1 Red Feint-CS - Only for tech, probably can do without and running Majin Buu's Heel Kicks. x2 Red Elbow Strike-SS - Cut x1 Red Overhand Slash-CGS - Maybe x1 Red Crush-CS - Cut x1 Red Shattering Leap-TS - Only for physical beats. x1 Red Flying Kick-WGS - Cut x1 Rebellion-RS - Cut x2 Red Face Strike-CS - Cut x2 Red Power Rush-TS - Only for physical beats. x3 Red Fist Lunge-CGS - Cut x3 Red Face Upheaval-TS - A couple can work x3 Red Front Kick-TS - Cut x3 Red Flight-CS - Cut x3 Red Reverse-SS - Cut x2 Red Palm Heel Strike-SS - Cut x3 Red Power Strike-CS - Cut x3 Red Diving Jab-CS - Cut >> Wow you only have two cards in your physical attacks that I run in my anger deck. Here are some recommendations that you should try out instead: Red Double Strike Red Overbearing Attack Red Eye Laser Assault Red Axe Heel Kick Red Lightning Slash Red Anihilation/Aerial Force Red Whiplash Gohan's Kick << Physical Combat (Defense) x1 Red Creative Block-WGS x1 Red Shifty Maneuver-CGS x1 Red Defensive Jump-CG x1 Red Knee Strike-SS x1 Red Energy Defensive Stance-WGS x3 Red Side Step-CG >> Cut all of those except run 3 Red Energy Defensive Stance. Your blocks should include: Red Blocking Hand Goku's Flight and maybe Red Passive Block << Energy Combat (Attacks) x1 Tien's Surprise Technique-FUS x1 Red Energy Surprise-CGS - maybe x1 Red Energy Disk Blasting-FS x1 Red Kid Trunks' Blast-WGS x1 Piccolo's Revenge-Promo x2 Red Energy Charge-RS] x3 Red Energy Blast - This is your only strength >> Again, cut your energies but Red Energy Blast and maybe Energy Surprise for some of these: Red Vigor Orb - only if you think you need control, otherwise you can live without it Trunks Makes Himself Clear Captain Ginyu's Energy Attack Red Mouth Cannon (for tech) << Energy Combat (Defense) x1 Red Physical Fortification-FUS x3 Red Side Kick-SS x3 Red Energy Shield-TS >> I would run: Red Rapid Deflection Red Energy Defensive Stance Goku's Flight Energy Ricochet Nappa's Energy Aura Frieza's Force Bubble (might not be needed) The Physical Fortification could work. << Combat x1 Trunk's Energy Sphere-TS - Run 3 x1 Smokescreen-CS - Cut x1 Super Saiyan Effect-TS - good x1 Time is a Warrior's Tool-FS - good x1 Cell's Defense-CS - maybe x1 Dazed-FUS - good x1 Cell's Threatening Position-RS - good x3 Red Blazing Aura-TS - nah >> Your combats should include Battle Pausing, Android 18's Staredown, maybe A17 Smirks, Power of the Dragon, and Red King Cold Observation. Non-Combat x1 Expectant Trunks x1 Goku's Heart Disease >> Interesting. Could work. If you like Heart Disease then go for it. << Total: 85 This deck problably won't sound familiar, and I bet you don't remember me since you get so many emails, but if it sounds like another deck that you just got a few months ago, then it was probably also from me. I sent you pretty much the same deck under the email Freshman1112@juno.com. >> Yeah, I get so many emails it is really hard to remember. If you >> constantly email me and somehow get my IM Screen Name and either bug >> me to death or chat with me, I'll probably remember you. It takes a >> while though. << In case you don't remember, I'm the one who sent you the sappy email on how I look up to you and you are my role-model, and I wasn't just messing around, and I know it sounds sappy, but it's true. >> Wow... I'm a role model. Since when? << I know I don't know you, but still. I don't think you save your emails, but if you do, you could probably see what I'm talking about. >> Actually I do save most of my emails. Both ways. If they are short questions, I send a response without saving it and then delete it. Sometimes I will not save a deck, but that rarely happens. I have it set up that I automatically save my emails in my Sent folder. After I answer a tech, I move the email from the "Pojo - Unanswered" folder to the "Pojo" folder, so most likely if I searched I could find your deck and the response. << Now I'm not meaning to send you the same deck to be funny. I am just sending you a new email because I just reformatted my computer, and I lost the other email plus my account. >> Wait this was the exact same deck. -_-. Ya mean I could of just >> searched out the email and forwarded it. >_< << I'm not sure on having Kami's Floating Island in my deck because it seems like not an important card to have, I dunno. Also, I didn't think it was important to have allies or drills since they might just get discarded the minute I get them out because I'm raising anger. >> Allies don't get discarded when you level. Where did you hear that? >> And you are correct, Drills aren't that strong in anger decks. << Do locations get discarded when you raise? >> No. << One more question on DBZ- is the winning by Highest Personality manditory, or is it optional. If it is optional, who decides it. >> Of course it is Mandatory. Who told you otherwise? << Well anyway, I know you are supposed to answer only DBZ questions, but I was just listening to my CD while writing, and I was wondering what groups and kind of music you listen too. >> ROFL. To tell you the honest truth, I'm actually a very quiet person >> in real life. Actually, think of it this way: I'm not your average >> person. I don't say much; I do my own thing and let whatever happen. >> So don't be surprised at my answer... I don't listen to music. Most >> music doesn't have much of an effect on me. It normally goes right >> over my head when I'm doing something. I'm really against the grain. >> I guess I can thank playing DBZ for that as well, seeing I don't have >> people to play me on a regular basis. << Not trying to be nosy, just interested, if you listen to anything. >> Heh, well now you know... I'm an odd character. I'm totally different >> when I play/do something in DBZ vs when I'm not. You can ask me >> whatever; I'll let you know if you are crossing the line ;). << Thanks a lot for reading. >> You're very welcome. Good luck, and sorry for not getting back to >> you. << Jacob -- matthewlow@franceslow.com "You will not be allowed to do this to anyone else!" - Gohan --
