Ah, emergency bans. Where would we be without them? So you can’t run this alongside Nemain unless the total count of both is at 4 or less, so it’s 3 Luard, 1 Nemain, 4 of one of them, none of the other, etc. Reasonable enough, because if we had Nemain, the first skill would just be a constant retire and draw engine with little reason to run much else, and would in turn all too easily fuel the second skill – literally all you’d have to do is sack Nemain plus her call of Abyssal Owl, soulblast your G1 Ride, usually with Abyssal Owl, and you’d have the three G1s in the drop. The final result – well, I’ll cover that in Dragdriver’s review next week.

As it stands, you’re going to have to treat the first skill as a +0 wash to you without Nemain, which makes things a bit more balanced, but primarily it should be treated as the means to get the first skill off, because trying to use him to retire enemy RGs consistently is a little unrealistic since nothing else in the deck really does that…other than Blaster Dark, but there’s better than him in a non-Blaster focused deck.

Simple to use in a sense, but it’s easy to see why he had to be emergency-limited.
