Dodododwarf Gogogoglove
– #LED6-EN036

During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 “Zubaba” or “Gagaga” monster from your hand. If you control a “Gogogo” or “Dododo” monster except “Dodododwarf Gogogoglove”, while this card is in your GY: You can Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use each effect of “Dodododwarf Gogogoglove” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Dodododwarf Gogogoglove takes up all the name space on the card, though there have been longer names.

DG facilitates more hand shenanigans like our previous card, only if you lead off with this you won’t have to depend on the graveyard to get the most out of it. DG is also a one-card Xyz as long as you have a Gagaga or Zubaba in your hand, which you likely will. Gagaga Magician still remains the best to summon, letting you go into ANY Xyz you want (I like that the newer cards for this archetype don’t forget one of the founding members). DG can also pull itself back from the grave if you’ve got a Dododo or Gogogo on the field, synergy with the other two archetypes that are used within the Gagaga archetype and the two archetypes within DG’s name, I like what they did there. With Master Rule 5 in effect you can spam Xyz monsters once more and the Gagaga archetype couldn’t be happier with endless ways to Special Summon and now new ways to keep the monsters coming back. DG can be a double Extra Deck summon card. You can also bring it back if you go into a Dododo or Gogogo Extra Deck monster, eliminating the problem of needing another main deck monster on the field.

Like yesterday’s card, DG can involve the hand and the field and be a double Extra Deck summon facilitator. The Gagaga archetype may include monsters with up to four different names, but they seem to coalesce together quite well.

More good cards with dumb names, here’s Dodododwarf Gogogoglove.

Dodododwarf Gogogoglove is a Level 4 EARTH Rock with 0 ATK and 1800 DEF. It’s a Defender, which is fine, EARTH is good and Rock is fine though you can’t make use of it outside Rock Decks. The first effect during your Main Phase lets you Special Summon a Zubaba or Gagaga monster from the hand. Considering yesterday’s card already Special Summons itself, you will likely go for a different card if you have a different Zubaba or Gagaga monster. The Zubaba lineup once again isn’t that great, but you at least got Gagaga Magician, Gagaga Girl, Gagaga Clerk, Gagaga Sister, and Utopic Onomatopoeia as some options you’re probably considering running. The second effect allows you to Special Summon this card from the graveyard if you control a Gogogo or Dododo monster that isn’t Dodododwarf Gogogoglove, but it’s banished when it leaves the field. Again, more Rank 4 capabilities, which negates the downside of this card banishing itself when it leaves the field. There’s a decent number of Dododo and Gogogo monsters to where this will be live. It’s another case where you run 3 of this in the Onomatopoeia Deck, as it is another piece that really assists in Rank 4 Spam.

Goodness, these names.  Dodododwarf Gogogoglove (we had to do it on both names today?) Earth/Rock (not a Warrior or even a Fiend, as the art may suggest) with 0 attack and 1800 defense.  So, during your Main Phase, you can Special Summon a Zubaba or Gagaga Monster from your Hand if you control a Gogogo or Dododo Monster.  Other than this card, of course.

This is very appropriately akin to our card from yesterday.  If this card resides in the Graveyard, you can Special Summon it, at the cost of removing it from play when it leaves the Field.  This card is more or less a copy of yesterday, with that little attachment of being removed when it leaves the Field via its own Special Summon.  It’s still target/name specific as to what you revive.

BUT it’s still an easy way to use, play, and abuse Rank 4s in the theme(s) and/or Yuma Decks, and while I give an edge to yesterday, this is still a solid enough card.  The other key difference being this card doesn’t Special Summon itself as easily as we saw yesterday but not bad, as said.

Rating:  3.5/5

Art:  3.5/5  Again, I’m not sure why it’s not a Warrior, or even a Fiend.  That armor suit and the purple in the back just really says FIEND to me

Much like yesterday’s COTD, Dodododwarf Gogogoglove is very straightforward and supports an archetype/series that was long overdue for some love.

This card is an inverted version of Zubabagancho Gagagacoat, Special Summoning itself from the GY and another Monster from the hand. I feel this is a more potent variation, as it makes this card more viable at different stages of the duel. They also work great when partnered with each other.

This card is balanced with a HOPT on each of its effects and by banishing itself when it leaves the field, though the latter is easily avoided by the XYZ summoning that the Onomatopoeia series is known for. You won’t see any ladder plays with this card, but it can easily be used to obtain XYZ summons consistently.

The design is clear and fitting for both archetypes that it represents. I’m a fan of action shots. I’m also glad that, with two Onomatopoeias in the name, it used two suffixes (dwarf and glove) that flowed well.

Unfortunately, while breathing life into the Onomatopoeia cards, there will need to be a lot more support before it sees any competitive play. Fingers crossed for a Yuma structure deck soon? There’s nothing wrong with it being a fun deck, though, and this card definitely helps get to that goal.

Versatility – 2
– It doesn’t fit into many decks.

Rogue Plays – 4
– This card can definitely be the first and the last piece in some good plays.

Art – 5
– I’m a fan of action poses and interesting outfits.

Balance – 5
– HOPT stops this card from being abused.

Uniqueness – 3
– A few cards are comparable, but not many.
