Hello Pojo Fans,

Compulsory Evacuation Device is our Throwback Thursday choice this week and fits in great with the Labrynth monster archetype.

Old school choice for sure, the original CED (before Chaos Emperor took the abbreviation) Compulsory was a quick answer to big monsters. Target and pop back to the hand. You can use it on any monster on the field, so you could even save your own monster if you didn’t want it being destroyed or stolen. Used offensively and defensively, Compulsory was a great card and a simple one to use. Alongside Labrynth monsters, it is another Normal Trap that is cost-free that can deal with a problem or pop one of their own monsters back to the hand to reuse for their effect.

Another old card that has been here for years that remains a viable option in todays gameplay…gotta love it.

Midweek gives us a removal Trap since Labrynth wants as many as possible, so we’re going old school with Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Compulse is a Normal Trap that targets any monster on the field and returns it to the hand. Its a -1 on its own, but it takes a threatening monster off the field without triggering effects that would go off if it went to the graveyard or banished pile. Targeting an Extra Deck monster also at least makes it harder on the opponent to get it back on field since they’ll have to invest resources into resummoning it from the Extra Deck instead of the much simpler ways of getting it from the hand back on the field. It might not take care of things for good, but it’s pretty risk free in terms of triggering effects and it gives you more of an opening for going for game. It’s a Trap that still ages well, but not to where it would ever deserve a spot on the F/L List again like it once did.
