Clavkiys, the Magikey Skyblaster – #DAMA-EN010

Everyone is full of possibilities. Everything you do, moving forwards, stopping, closing, opening, is all in your hands.  There are many doors in this world. To open them requires the Magic Key… 2 keys and 1 door… 2 wills and 1 body. Once the doors are opened, the worlds will be connected and the great power revealed.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Clavkiys, the Magikey Skyblaster begins our week on CoTD and, while not much to say about it, a story has to start somewhere.

Vanilla monster, with strong stats, Clavkiys is the start to its archetype in Dawn of Majesty and necessary in all of the Extra Deck Summoning, as well as Ritual Summoning. Each of the boss monsters requires or ties in a “Normal, non-Token” monster to make itself better, and Clavkiys being a Magikey will allow it to be the star choice in its archetype, despite other good Normal monsters. Clavkiys works well with Greater Magikey – Mafteahl, allowing it to Normal Summon itself even if you used your Normal Summon this turn, setting up any of the Extra Deck requirements for summon. He also ties into all the support cards, being the resident Normal non-Token monster, so why play a different vanilla?

Kinda like Aleister the Invoker or Fallen of Albaz, but not as useful on his own as those two. Some pretty good monsters to come though.

Magikeys take over this week for the CotD reviews as we start with their basic vanilla monster: Clavkiys, the Magikey Skyblaster.

Clavkiys is a Level 4 DARK Warrior Normal Monster with 1900 ATK and DEF. Good stats overall, plus a great Type of Warrior to be searchable off RotA and being DARK gives you Allure of Darkness for consistency if you wanted, and don’t forget being a Normal Monster for Rescue Rabbit and/or Unexpected Dai. Level 4 Normals usually need good stats to be good, and Clavkiys has that, but also being the lone Main Deck Monster so far that’s Normal Summonable until BODE drops is nice, plus being a vanilla does give most the other cards in the archetype their full potential, especially tomorrow’s card. An archetype based on Normal Monsters should have their own, and Clavkiys is good enough to serve as your DARK Monster if you’re trying to get all the Attributes, just have fun finding the others, but there’s good options like Angel Trumpeter for EARTH since that’s a Tuner.

If anyone wondered what Little Jack Atlus was doing before he hit the pro dueling circuit, look no further.  Clavkiys, the Magikey Skyblaster is a Level 4, Dark/Warrior Monster, with 1900 attack and defense.  It’s about top notch there for Level 4 in those terms.  Dark and Warrior are fantastic.  This guy is an absolute 3 of in your Deck right now, just because the card pool is so limited.  Out of their Monsters, only 2 of them don’t come from the Extra Deck right now, so regardless of being vanilla, that makes Clavkiys a pretty important inclusion right now.  Nice bit of lore in the card text though.
