Chaos Space
– #TOCH-EN009

Send 1 LIGHT or DARK monster from your hand to the GY; add 1 LIGHT or DARK monster that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set from your Deck to your hand, with a Level from 4 to 8, and with a different Attribute than that monster. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 of your banished LIGHT or DARK monsters that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set; place that monster on the bottom of the deck, then draw 1 card. You can only use each effects of “Chaos Space” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Chaos Space is a piece of search power that would’ve been known as “BLS or CED Searcher” long ago.

A -1 off the start, but it does get you to one of your tougher to summon monsters while putting a LIGHT or DARK into the graveyard, setting up the eventual summon of the monster you searched. You need to have a different Attribute than the monster you sent, but that isn’t hard. Outside of the new Chaos monsters as well as the old Chaos monsters, this can be used alongside stuff like the Legendary Knights and Lightrays. The -1 evens out when you banish Chaos Space and get back a monster and then draw. Having a way of getting something into the grave straight from your hand will set up your grave, then having a way to get a monster back and draw (as well as guaranteeing you wont’ draw the monster you just brought back) all in one card can free up space from using other cards to do the same job. The monster returned has to be one you can’t Normal Summon/Set, but with the typical theme this works with it will be easy to do, much like the first effect of this card.

This card, while good in the new Chaos support, works surprisingly well in other decks despite the restrictions, and I think that may be the best part of this card: it’s unlikely versatility in archetypes that haven’t had any/lack of support throughout the years. Get your grave going or put another monster into it so you can start your banishing. All of Chaos Space can be used in the same turn, something that puts it above many cards that can’t do that.

Next up this week is a very powerful Spell for Chaos themes, Chaos Space.

Chaos Space is a Normal Spell with an effect to send a LIGHT or DARK monster from hand to grave to search for a Level 4 to 8 LIGHT or DARK monster with a different Attribute from the sent monster and said monster searched being unable to be Normal Summoned or Set. The options to search here is great while also setting up Chaos plays. You got Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, Chaos Dragon Levianneer, Chaos Emperor Dragon – Envoy of the End, Chaos Valkyria, Black Dragon Collapserpent, White Dragon Wyverburster, Chaos Sorcerer, and some more Chaos cards we’ll see in the next few days. It doesn’t have to be a Chaos monster specifically, but most monsters that meet all the requirements here are Chaos-based. The second effect lets you banish this card from the graveyard to take a banished LIGHT or DARK monster that cannot be Normal Summoned or Set to return it to the bottom of the Deck and draw a card, which is kinda nice to get back potential boss monsters or combo extenders. Sure it goes to the bottom of the Deck, but it’s still there to search it or draw it again (mostly after you shuffle the Deck so it can get closer to the top of the Deck). The bonus draw also guarantees a chance to get another boss or combo extender and makes up for the initial minus, especially considering both effects can be used in the same turn. Both effects are hard once per turns, mostly due to their potential power. It’s an excellent card for anything Chaos-based and an easy must for LIGHT/DARK themes.

Art: 3.5/5 It’s cool to see the opposites of LIGHT and DARK, but not too special.

Review for yesterday is up.  Chaos Space, a Normal Magic, is up next.  The first effect seems long winded but I’d rather simple and plays well with yesterday.
You dump a Light/Dark from your Hand to retrieve one from your Graveyard (Level 4-8) that’s a different Attribute.  Said Monster has to be unable to be Normal Summoned or Set.
Removing this card from play lets you take a Light/Dark (who still can’t be Normal Summoned/Set) and return it to the bottom of your Deck to Draw a card.  Much better effect here.  Recycles resources and gives you a new card.  Great 1-for-1 here.

Art:  4/5  While fairly bland, I do like the space and opposite contrasts in this picture.
