Episode #417 - Imitation Confrontation
The Return of Duplica
At another Pokémon Center, Ash
and friends find Duplica and Ditto playing Nurse Joy and Chansey. They start to
talk while Ditto plays with Togepi. Team Rocket is watching at a distance.
Duplica is waiting for her new Ditto to get healed by Nurse Joy, who brings it
out on a cart. In a park, the Dittos, Pikachu, and Togepi play on a hill while
the others talk. Duplica has Ditto change into Togepi, which fools Misty.
Brock wants to see
if it can duplicate Onix. It does, but only a miniature version. It still
hasn’t mastered its Transform technique yet. Ash sends out Totodile and Ditto
duplicates it. The Ditto version tries to scare Totodile, but Totodile just
laughs at it and hits it with a Water Gun. The Ditto version can’t quite do
everything it should yet and can’t use the attacks. Totodile takes it down
quickly afterward. Back at the Pokémon Center, Team Rocket shows up dressed as
Ash and Duplica. While they look on, Meowth sneaks in and nabs Ditto. They
prepare to fight, but then notice the Ditto is missing. They run into the
Pokémon center and ask Nurse Joy about it, but she’s only seen a trainer with
an Ursaring.
Outside in the
woods, Team Rocket tries to get Ditto to use its transform for them. Meowth gets
an idea of using this Ditto to make money at a circus imitating miniature
versions of Pokémon. Jessie and James like the idea and they develop it further
by thinking of trading Ditto for other more powerful Pokémon, then stealing it
back. Back at the center, Ash, Duplica, Misty and Brock have been looking
around, with Ditto and Noctowl flying around for aerial spotting, but they
can’t find them. Jessie and James set their plan in motion. They have Ditto
become a mini Arbok and start taking trade offers. Ash and Duplica arrive and
get suspicious. They try and find out for sure, becoming sure when Wobbuffet
pops out of its Poké Ball. They set up for a fight, but Duplica has one become
Arbok and the other a mini Wobbuffet.
The Ditto
Wobbuffet deflects Arbok’s attack. James sends out Weezing and the Ditto Arbok
uses Wrap to hold him. Pikachu jumps in and uses Thunderbolt, but Wobbuffet
reflects it back. Duplica has her Ditto Wobbuffet deflect Arbok’s Tackle and
Weezing’s Smog attacks. Jessie gets rather mad and tells Meowth to attack. He
tries a Scratch attack, but it’s returned as well. Duplica has both her Dittos
become Pikachu and all three use Thunderbolt, bypassing Wobbuffet and knocking
them in the air. Back at the Pokémon Center, Duplica does another demonstration
of her new Ditto doing mini versions of various Pokémon, doing an Ursaring
which looks quite cute. Duplica and Ash run outside and prepare to have a new
match. Back in the woods, Team Rocket is trying to figure out how to get out of
the tree they landed in.
