"Wake up, Snorlax!" was pretty good. Snorlax is a huge Pokemon that sleeps a lot, and wakes up only to eat. The show featured the usual cast (Ash & crew, followed by the fantastic Team Rocket), and we also got to see the Pokemon Flute. Ash & crew arrrive in a town that has NO FOOD, but that's not the worst of things. The river has dried up for some reason. So, the ever-adventurous Ash & crew check it out. After a bit of downriver trekking, they find that the flow of the river is being blocked by a giant Snorlax! This Pokemon is huge. He weighed close to 1000 pounds. As they tried to wake him up, Team Rocket arrived. The general mayhem ensued, and eventually, after many failed attempts to wake the Snorlax (the Sleeping Beauty idea was fabulous), it is discovered that only the beautiful music from a Pokemon Flute will awaken a Snorlax. Well, at the beginning of the show, Ash & crew came across a hippie who played his flute for them (with a kind of "WILL PLAY MUSIC FOR FOOD" idea). Team Rocket came across the same hippie shortly thereafter. Well, they remember this, and a "Race to the Hippie" begins. Ash & crew eventually lead the hippie to Snorlax, who reveals that the Snorlax is in fact his own Pokemon. He wakes Snorlax with the flute, but the river is still blocked! What now? Vines, lots of vines. There are a bunch of vines clogging the flow. No problem, there's a Snorlax about. The Snorlax begins eating all the vines, the river begins to flow back to the town, and Ash & crew are heroes. All in all, it was nice to see Snorlax and the Pokemon Flute, but I would have liked to have seen more Pokemon in action. Scott's Grade: B - . Scott
