What's up, you guys?! With Set 11 right around the
corner, I guess we might as well take a look at a few
unsung gems...or plain rocks depending on how you see
them. First off, we have...
Covert Demonic Dragon, Mandala Lord
Race: Abyss Dragon
[CONT](VC/RC):If you have a non-«Murakumo» vanguard or
rear-guard, this unit gets [Power]-2000.
[AUTO] (VC):[Counter Blast (1) & Choose a card named
"Covert Demonic Dragon, Mandala Lord" from your hand,
and discard it] At the beginning of the guard step of
the battle that this unit is attacked, you may pay the
cost. If you do, choose one of your opponent's attacking
units, and that unit gets [Power]-10000 until end of
...so out of the 11,000 Trinity of Murakumo, which
are ZANBAKU, Shiriyuki and this card, Mandala Lord, most
people don't really use this card. Why? Well, mainly
because of two reasons: 1.) ZANBAKU beats Mandala as he
can be excellent against Crossrides and Break Rides, and
2.) Shiriyuki has Mandala's effect but better as it
deducts 20,000 instead of 10,000 like he does. Does this
make Mandala Lord a bad card though? Absolutely not.
While yes, Shiriyuki and ZANBAKU are better as overall
cards, Mandala Lord can still combo really well with
either one as putting it with ZANBAKU doesn't restrain
you to any Limit Breaks and putting it with Shiriyuki
can alway make the opponent weary of any kind of Persona
Blast. Also, Mandala Lord has a few search
options...though those are probably better ignored as
their stats are horrible...
..though overall, Mandala Lord is still a great card
to have should you not have enough for the other parts
of the Murakumo Trinity.
Next Time: WHY ARE HIS TEETH SO ILLUMINATING?!
