We need more dragons like this in Magic: not just dracoliches literally like this, but also forest dragons, aquatic dragons, outer space dragons, and anything that gives them an excuse to draw a dragon that looks different and plays different from others. Exiling seven other cards from one’s graveyard is a steep cost, but some decks designed to take advantage of the graveyard will be able to meet it frighteningly early; just keep in mind that it has negative synergy with other graveyard-centric cards like Lhurgoyf or Lord of Extinction

Big, undead, and hard to kill for good, Bone Dragon is the kind of creature whose mythic rare status likely is because it’s not a fair creature to face in limited. While exiling seven cards to get it back is pricey, the fact that you can get the skeletal dragon back time and time again makes it fitting for the highest rarity. Being impervious to a lot of removal is good, and Bone Dragon also brings with it a solid enough body (5/4 for 5 mana, with flying). It’s a potent finisher for black decks, and it shows that swooping early and often is the recipe for success.
