Hello Pojo Fans,

Blackwing Full Armor Master is an upgraded version of an old Blackwing favorite.

Level 10 doesn’t matter in Blackwings, they can make this easily. Blackwing Tuner and more than one non-Tuner monsters, they could make this first turn (Armor Master and Gale). Tremendous DEF, only 500 more ATK, but its simplicity to make in the archetype may warrant the lack of a big boost in ATK. Invincibility against card effects makes this a wall and a battering ram for you. This card punishes your opponent for having multiple monsters on the field and activating monster effects. Wedge Counter plays are available with BFAM, but now you can steal the monster that has a Wedge Counter. Only the monster that activates an effect gets a Wedge Counter, which doesn’t do much for you if it leaves the field before your turn. Take control of a Wedge Counter monster is a great effect, but not as good as popping all monsters with Wedge Counters on them at your End Phase. Field-clearing abilities are always welcome for boss monsters, and this can put in some work against decks that spam. The only way BFAM is going down is if it loses in battle or is tributed.

The effect would be better if ALL monsters on your opponents side of the field got a Wedge Counter when an effect monster activated an effect…but that is why you have Blackwing – Auster the South Wind. Banish it to put a Wedge Counter on ALL your opponents monsters, and its a Level 4 Tuner. You can make BFAM with this card and another, then banish to cover your opponents field in Wedge Counters, take a monster, then pop everything at the End Phase, wow.

Week 3 of the Legendary Duelists month and now it is time for the Blackwing Boss Monster, Blackwing Full Armor Master.

Blackwing Full Armor Master is a Level 10 DARK Winged-Beast Synchro with 3000 ATK and DEF and requires 1 Blackwing Tuner and 1+ non-Tuners as material. ATK and DEF are great on this card, probably the first card reviewed in this month with great stats on both sides, summoning requirements lock it into Blackwings, but are easy to fulfill in the archetype, DARK and Winged Beast are good for Attribute and Type. This card is unaffected by other card effects, which is already amazing protection. It is unaffected by your cards as well, but that shouldn’t matter that much. Each time a monster your opponent controls activates its effects, place 1 Wedge Counter on it (max. 1) after it resolves. Once per turn, you can target a monster your opponent controls with a Wedge Counter on it and take control of it. This is where Auster adding counters is useful, since you won’t likely add counters the turn this is summoned, Auster can generate the counters so you can steal something. Also it is yours for as long as it is on the field, which is great. If you don’t want to take an opponent’s monster, you can during your End Phase destroy all monsters on the field with Wedge Counters. Most likely your opponent will be the only one having monsters with Wedge Counters, so they’ll lose some if not all of their monsters. Having a potential Raigeki an Change of Heart on a monster that is unaffected by card effect and has great stats is amazing, and this is easily one of if not the best Blackwing Synchro Monsters now.

As Week 3 kicks off, we see Blackwing Armor Master (can’t believe his Crimson Crisis release was nearly 10 years ago) received an upgrade, and became a Full Armor Master.  So, Level 10, Dark, Winged Beast, and 3000 attack and defense, who is Synchro Summoned with a Blackwing Tuner and one or more non-Tuner monsters.

First off, you note an immunity to other cards’ effects, which isn’t anything to scoff at.  You get to place a Wedge Counter on an opponent’s Monster each time it activates its effect (a maximum of 1 Counter per Monster) after the resolution of said effect.  You don’t have to worry about Full Armor Master being destroyed, save by Battle, with his effect immunity, and at 3000 attack (and defense) that’s no easy task.

These counters are good for two reasons, you’ll see.  The first, being that once per turn, you can take control of an opponent’s Monster that has a Wedge Counter.  No restriction as to what can be done with this Monster (Tribute, Fusion, XYZ, Link, Synchro) literally whatever you need, so that’s beautiful.  But if that’s not enough, during the End Phase (also once per turn) you can destroy ALL Monsters on the Field that have said Counters.

So…strong attack body, effect immunity, Monster destruction and the ability to take control of other Monsters…this guy is ridiculous theme support.  It’s necessary he has to have a Blackwing Tuner, cause if this guy could be made in any Deck, we might have a problem.  Great boss Monster for a theme though, I really like this card, as should Blackwing players.

Art:  4.5/5  I’d like a little more color on the Armor Master, but the pic is great.  Love the wings and even the hair, clearly more Armored than his predecessor.  The contrasting blues in the background is nice too.
