● This card gains 1500 ATK.
● This card can make a second attack during the Battle Phase of your next turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Black Luster Soldier – Soldier of Chaos wraps up the week and I love that this card doesn’t require specific support to summon

Three monsters with different names is incredibly easy to use (including tokens). For three small monsters you get a Link 3 3000 beater that can get better depending on if you use a high level monster to Link Summon it. Level 7 or higher monster involved in the summon grants protection against targeting effects and destruction from opponent card effects. Level 7 or higher monster is also easy to use (DANGER!) or off of a Pendulum Summon. Any of the effects it gets from destroying a monster are great, and applicable depending on your situation. The second attack is a throwback to the original BLS, and will be handy for direct attacks. Banish one card on the field is likely to be used the most as it gives you advantage and can be a problem solver. The 1500ATK gain can be overlooked, but no one should forget that it is cumulative. Two battles and this Link 3 is 6000ATK. Tri-Gate Wizard is a great Link 3 still in the game with its negation abilities, but this is pure power and potential card advantage.

BLS – SoC can become a powerhouse so easily and if you combine it with a Level 7 or higher for its summon it forces your opponent to tribute it for a Kaiju, affect it with a non-target effect, or beat it in battle. As previously stated, two battles make it 6000ATK…good luck beating that in battle.

I feel like the perfect way to end this week was with this card, Black Luster Soldier – Soldier of Chaos.

BLS – SoC is a Link-3 EARTH Warrior with 3000 ATK and arrows pointing Up, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right. ATK is good on a Link-3, I like Warrior and EARTH is fine, and those arrows are perfect minus the Up one, but I guess that keeps it from getting too good. The summoning requirements are any 3 monsters with different names, which is achievable without doubt, but you don’t get to use a Link-2 to climb into this, you need 3 monsters. If this card was Link Summoned using a Level 7 or higher monster, your opponent cannot target this or destroy it with card effects, which is great protection with an easy to fulfill requirement to make it not too insane to just summon this with protection, but not too hard to where it’s never going to happen, because there’s a lot of decks out there that love Level 7+ monsters. When this card destroys an opponent’s monster by battle, you can either have this gain 1500 ATK, have it attack twice next Battle Phase, or banish a card on the field. The first effect might not be too common since 3000 ATK is already pretty strong, but I can see it at least once at most in a game to make it much more safe at 4500 ATK, the second effect kinda stings it isn’t immediate, but at least the attacks won’t have to be in a row and I guess it makes sense considering this effect isn’t a hard once per turn meaning it can trigger as long as it can keep attacking and destroying monsters, and the last effect is great non-targeting and non-destruction removal, plus a lot of cards still don’t like being banished. Soldier of Chaos really feels like a Boss Monster like Link-3, which is something they usually give to the Link-4s, but I’m not complaining. Solder of Chaos is great to have as a one-of in the Extra Deck, especially if you have high level monsters.

Advanced Rating: 4.25/5

Art: 5/5 I’m always going to like a good BLS artwork.

Black Luster Soldier-Soldier of Chaos (did we do this once, or is it I wanted to, and we didn’t?) anyway, Earth, Warrior, Link 3, 3000 attack (superb) with arrows pointing directly above, and to the bottom respective diagonals.  Any three differently named Monsters here are required for Link Summoning.  So first, it can’t be targeted or destroyed by card effects if you used a Level 7 or higher Monster(s) for Link Material.

That’s great, it sucks to invest a high Level card when not specifically required in a Link Monster, but that’s a double protection there, and wouldn’t be too difficult to do.  Next, if this card destroys a Monster in Battle, you have a triplet of effects you can choose from to activate:

Either you gain 1500 attack (4500 attack is insane, and that seems to be permanent) you get to double attack like his Envoy counterpart during the next Battle Phase, or remove one card from play on the Field.  The first two effects to choose from make the protection you can get in Link Summoning very important.  4500 attack isn’t going to be run over, after all.

And a double attack, even at 3000, is something your opponent is going to prepare for.  Free removal, in the last effect, is very nice on here too.  It can be any card, any position, and even your own, if you desire at the time.  He’s a jack of all trades, that’s for sure.  He’s absolutely just a terrific Link 3, and if you can bring him out and protect, should win you some games.

Rating:  4.5/5

Art:  5/5  I feel he should be dark, given the darker skin, dark armor, dark overall background, but Earth fits too I suppose given the theme as a whole.

Black Luster Friday returns! Black Luster Soldier – Soldier of Chaos is a Link 3 Earth Warrior-type Link Monster with 3000 Atk and with 2 Bottom Diagonal Arrows and one Top Arrow. Any 3 differently named monsters can summon this properly, but you’ll want to throw in at least 1 Level 7 or higher monster so this can be protected from your opponent’s targeting and destruction effects. Protection plus a 3000 Atk easy summon beater is already good on its own merits. The bonus effects trigger and stack so long as you destroy a monster. You get the choice to pump BLS – SoC by 1500 Atk, attack twice the next turn, or banish any card on the field. Those are 3 great options and call back to the BLS cards of old. The third effect gives you the most immediate advantage, but in the grind game, attacking twice should be enough to win, especially if this has gained its protection effect. The only real downsides are Extra Deck Space, the top Arrow, and the predictable artwork. You also cannot Link Climb into this because BLS – SoC requires 3 different monsters. Otherwise, try it out. BLS has been stealing games since Invasion of Chaos, no reason to stop now. Happy Friday!
