Hello Pojo Fans,

Aron, the Ogdoadic King is one of the big reptile monsters you can summon pretty easily in the Ogdoadic archetype.

Aron has the Level 8 and DARK thing going for him, but his ability to Special Summon himself from the grave gives him a leg up on other big monsters. Yes, it takes two monsters, however, Reptile-Type monsters like Flogos and Zohah gain effects off being sent to the grave from the field. Also, Ogdoadic Calling makes it simple to summon the king from the grave with its tokens. Not specifying what type of monster also allows more token play like Scapegoat. The archetype can Special Summon with relative ease, giving you enough monsters for Aron if you want. The 1-for-1 off an opponents search, while not benefiting you through the form of a search, does help counter what they may be building towards. Taking a card away from an opponent is hardly ever a bad thing. Aron will search any Reptile in the archetype as well as many you may tech into the deck, and with many of the archetypes monsters having pretty high ATK, you will get at least one search off Aron. Nunu and Nauya are two of the best monsters to search off of Aron, as they can be discarded or summoned to activate effects.

You’d like to see higher ATK for a Level 8, but being live in the grave whenever you have two monsters on the field is a great balance. You can tribute Aron for another Reptile and simply bring it back later.

We take a jump to the big Ogdoadic monsters as we now look at Aron, the Ogdoadic King.

Aron is a Level 8 LIGHT Reptile with 2500 ATK and 2800 DEF. Overall pretty solid stats, Reptile is gonna be a ton of fun to play with, and LIGHT is fairly useful. Again, a lot of hard once per turns here. First one being you can revive this card from the graveyard by tribtuing 2 monsters. A bit costly, but in Ogdoadic you can find ways to have the fodder to revive this if using its own effect. If your opponent adds a card to their hand, bar during the Damage Step, you can send a random card from the opponent’s hand to the grave. Nice way to counter the plus they just made, especially with some of your cards giving the opponent cards, so it’s going to come up and it combos well with the Queen. The last effect also combos with the Queen as she can trigger it, as if a monster the opponent controls is sent to the graveyard, you can search out any LIGHT or DARK Reptile from your Deck. Nice way to get to more starter/extender cards in the Ogdoadic archetype and you aren’t locked in archetype in case you know of some other cool Reptiles to use. Aron is a useful card for Ogdoadic, but it’s a 1-of as all the bigger Ogdoadics are considering they’re bricks in the hand without discard fodder and you got tons of ways to put them in grave.

Advanced Rating: 3.5/5

Art: 4/5 I imagine that armor is pretty scaley for a snake.

Speaking of Light/Reptiles, as we did yesterday, here’s Aron, the Ogdoadic King.  Level 8 this time, with 2500/2800, an interesting go for a Level 8.  So you can Special Summon this card from your Grave by Tributing two Monsters.  A little counter productive I feel, but it does help you get more Monsters into your Graveyard, and it’s still a Special Summon, so it’s not an awful thing.  You can also send a random card from your opponent’s Hand to their Graveyard if they Draw a card(s) outside the Draw Phase or Damage Step.  That’s easier than ever to accomplish these days, and the fact they could, albeit at random, lose the card they have added to their Hand via whatever effect is really cool.  The optional clause there is appreciated as well.  If (save the Damage Step of course) a Monster under your opponent’s control is sent to the Graveyard (no stipulation as to how or by which player, OR even if it has to be their Monster, just under their control) you can retrieve a Light or Dark Reptile from your Deck or Grave back to your Hand.  So that should be ANY Reptile you have playing in your Deck, again literally, as it can come from the Deck or Grave, so your options are pretty open.  The 2500 attack leaves him a bit vulnerable, but the 2500 defense should do well, and Reptile support is only growing.  Solid enough card here.

Rating:  3.5/5

Art:  4.5/5  I like the armor and the background (more so than the character in the picture) but this is still lots of fun.
