Animadorned Archosaur
– #ETCO-EN037

If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can destroy 1 Dinosaur monster in your hand or face-up field, except “Animadorned Archosaur”, then add 1 Reptile, Sea Serpent, or Winged Beast monster with the same original Level as that destroyed monster, OR 1 “Evolution Pill” Spell, from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of “Animadorned Archosaur” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Animadorned Archosaur is the dinosaur the archetype needed at the right time.

Stuff in the archetype was hit by the ban list and this little guy was revealed, calming any players worries. Of course now nothing for Dinosaurs is limited so it makes Archosaur even better.

Another Dinosaur that can pop a Dinosaur to search. While you’re likely only searching a “Evolution Pill” there may be some tech cards you could search with the other part of this cards effect. It can’t pop itself, which makes it balanced, but you can pop from the hand, making it an on the field True King of sorts. Archosaur is just another way for Dinosaur players to pop the little ones in their hand to get their searches and get a free Evolution Pill of their choice. Being a Level 1 you won’t have any difficulty summoning Archosaur and could even use One for One with it. As long as you get this and a searcher in the first hand you are off to the races. Pop Babycerasaurus, Special Summon Souleating Oviraptor, Oviraptor kicks with its effect, Archosaur is a combo starter as long as you’ve got a searcher alongside it.

Time to look at some new support cards in ETCO, starting with a new option for Dinosaurs: Animadorned Archosaur.

Archosaur is a Level 1 LIGHT Dinosaur with 0 ATK and DEF. Stats are standard on Level 1 typically, LIGHT is a good Attribute, and Dinosaur is well supported and still a viable meta contender as a rogue option. This being Level 1 means Miscellaneousaurus can summon this on its own. Upon this card’s Normal or Special Summon, you can destroy a Dinosaur in your hand or face-up from field that isn’t an Animadorned Archosaur to search a Reptile, Sea Serpent, or Winged Beast monster from the Deck with the same original Level as the destroyed Dinosaur, or you can instead search an Evolution Pill Spell from the Deck. The first part does seem strange, but it does work with the Evolution Pills I guess. Sea Serpent feels like the odd one out considering no Evolution Pill printed works specifically with them, but I guess that means you can pop a baby Dino for Deep Sea Diva if you wanted. You’re likely searching an Evolution Pill and that card is probably going to be Double Evolution Pill to get to your Ultimate Conductor Tyranno or Overtex Quatlus with relative ease. Popping a baby Dino also gives you a free summon of a Dino from Deck, so there’s synergy in the Type already. It’s easy to summon as well being searchable off Souleating Oviraptor or Fossil Dig alongside being able to get summoned off One for One and Miscellaneousaurus. It’s a nice new addition to the arsenal of Dinosaurs to get to your Evolution Pills, but the first part of the effect might bring some experimentation to the field. Either way it’s a Dino staple.

Note:  Do CotD before 5 am the morning of.  Animadorned Archosaur kicks things off this week.  Level 1, 0 attack and defense, Light/Dino, and a whole lot of text.  So this is a combo card for a variety or hybrid of players.
Destroying a Dino when this is Normal or Special Summoned (options are good) other than this card (unfortunate given the 0 attack and defense) nets you a Monster of the same Level of the one you destroyed with this effect.
Said Monster fetches can be a Winged Beast, Reptile, or Sea Serpent (not a Dino) but still lots of options.  OR you can fetch an Evolution Pill Magic card from your Deck.  Lots of those in the game these days.
This effect whether you take the Pill or not is helping you pull one effect off of some Pill, but this card can open up a lot of plays for you in the Dino hybrid Deck.  Versatile little guy.
