Adamancipator Researcher
– #SESL-EN002

If you control a Rock monster, except “Adamancipator Researcher”: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. During your Main Phase: You can excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck, and if you do, you can Special Summon 1 excavated Level 4 or lower non-Tuner Rock monster, also place the rest on the bottom of the Deck in any order. You can only use each effect of “Adamancipator Researcher” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Adamancipator Researcher begins Adamancipator week on Pojo, a highly anticipated archetype.

She’s one of the Level 2 Tuners of the archetype, all Main Deck Adamancipator monsters are Tuner monsters. The archetype is all Rock-based and covers WIND, WATER, FIRE, and EARTH Attributes. Special Summon ability if you’ve got another Rock monster makes for easy Link and Synchro summoning. A new excavation archetype, with Researcher you’ve got a good shot of hitting with her effect and getting a free Level 4 or lower Rock (not Tuner). Hitting one of the smaller versions of the big Synchro Monsters for the archetype will get you to a Level 6 Synchro Summon right there, but the goal is to spam the board and get multiple Synchro Summons. Each of the smaller Synchro versions give you a plus when Special Summoned via an Adamancipator effect. You should be able to get your plus off Researcher. This archetype is another that can go into Crystron Halqifibrax first turn with ridiculous consistency, which would get you another Tuner to Special Summon at some point. While there aren’t any Rock Synchro monsters to summon with Crystron Halqifibrax, it is still a very powerful weapon for Adamancipators due to any of the Tuner monsters being a one-card Halqifibrax which is then another search.

All of the Tuner Adamancipators have this effect and you could say the Level 4 would be the best, but as long as you get one of them you are likely in business.

Art-4/5- I think being a Secret Rare hurt her artwork, other than that, it is great.

We finally get to Secret Slayers and we start with Adamancipator Week with the best Tuner in the archetype: Adamancpiator Researcher.

Researcher is a Level 2 EARTH Rock Tuner with 100 ATK and 2100 DEF. Great DEF stat on Level 2, EARTH and Rock go hand and hand together, and Level 2 works well with Tuners. Researcher’s first effect is that you can Special Summon her from hand if you control a Rock monster that isn’t another Researcher. Nice that all the Tuners have easy Special Summon effects, but Researcher might be the easiest since it just needs any generic Rock instead of an archetype monster in the case of Seeker and no monsters in the case of Analyzer. Helps get you to Synchros or Links with the greatest of ease for your combos. The second effect lets you excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck to let you summon any Level 4 or lower Rock non-Tuner you excavated while the rest go to the bottom of the Deck. It is luck dependent, but you are likely to excavate a Rock non-Tuner if you play enough of them for effects. You got all the Crystals in the Adamancipator archetype, Doki Doki, the Gogogo monsters, and your Koa’ki Meiru Rocks as great options to potentially summon off this, helping you with whatever you might need to get your plays going, whether it’s a body on board or a negation in your Koa’ki Meirus. The rest going to the bottom of the Deck can give you better chances of excavating Rock non-Tuners off the other Tuners in this archetype while also putting any bricks on the bottom of the Deck. Each effect of Researcher is a hard once per turn, which is more than fair. Each Tuner is important to the Adamancipator strategy, and that especially includes Researcher. She can also be good in other Rock strategies with her generic summoning effects. Megaliths easily come to mind for some interesting combos. Researcher is a great card, especially for the archetype she’s designed for.

Advanced Rating: 4.5/5
Art: 5/5 She seems nice.

In the first week of a Theme in a while, we have Adamancipator week, opening with Researcher.  Earth/Rock, Level 2, and a Tuner with 100 attack but a marvelous 2100 defense.

So, controlling any Rock Monster besides this card lets you Special Summon this card from your Hand.  Can’t argue with that, getting a Free Monster out is always a plus, especially when it’s a Tuner.

You can Excavate your top 5 cards and Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Rock Monster.  So long as it’s not a Tuner and was Excavated.  The rest of your cards are returned to the bottom of your Deck in any order.

Thus opening up your Extra Deck Synchro plays.  You may not gain the necessary Monster to compliment this card EVERY time, but you will more often than not.  Each effect is able to be used once per turn.

Great defense, easy to bring to the Field, just as easy to combo for a Synchro…wonderful card for Rocks.

Art:  4.5/5  Very anime looking.  I think she looks more like a Hunter than a Researcher.  But still quite pretty
