I'm not going to start bashing Haymaker, enough of that has been done to fill a small novel.  I am, however, giong to bash the non-creative types who play this deck without putting any thought into what they are doing.

Thinking back, there was a tourney on 8/26.  I went in with my Aero/ Erika Dratini/Mr. Mime/ Buzz/Ditto deck.  Designed to minimize or negate damage, I called it Basic Defense.  It faced 4 Haymakers, and beat 3.  THe loss came from a nightmare scenerio (Dactyl vs. Scyther).

The opponents, however, made some really dumb moves with their Haymakers. (You know who you are.)  Example, why would you ever Thunderpunch Erika's Dratini?  RIsking 10 to yourself to do 10 is foolish.  Thunderpunching the Mime was even funnier.  No damage.  My favorite was when my Dratini was facing a 'Chan.  He attached an energy, threw down two Pluspowers, and did....10!

I feel that with the popularity of these Archtypes, kids are coming into the game with Great decks, but no experience on how to play them properly.  This is a game of skill.  Copying a great deck doesn't give you the knowledge of how it should be played.  Saying you didn't expect to face a certain Pokemon is not an excuse.  Your deck should have answers to all types of scenerios.

For those of you who prefer playing with Rain Dance, I have two suggestions:

     1) Run Charity.  If your playing with heavy hitters, you need this card.
         -or-
     2) Run Movie Promo Articuno.  20 will get under the Mime, and may hit the bench as well.
