Making an Anti-Archetype deck.

       -Adam.

Well as you probably know the Pokemon TCG is dominated by 'archetypes' which
means decks that are so good that lots of people use them. The only
archetypes that have survived are Haymaker, Wigglytuff and Raindance (my
favourite of the three). Alakazam Stall is an archetype but recently it has
been rapidly declining in popularity because of Promo Mewtwo, Aerodactyl,
Muk, etc.

So how do you design a deck that can beat archetypes? You counter them!

Pokemon:15
4 Erica's Dratini
3 Aerodactyl
2 Dodrio
3 Doduo
3 Electabuzz

Trainers:31
3 Computer Serach
3 Item Finder
3 Super Energy Removal
3 Scoop Up
4 Pokemon Centre
3 Nightly Garbage Run
4 Bill
4 Mysterious Fossil
3 Gust of Wind

Energy:14
4 DCE
2 Full Heal Energy
8 Lightning
-------------------
Let me explain. For Haymakers, use the Erika's Dratini. It has a great
Pokemon power for stopping Haymaker. For Wigglytuff, use Aerodactyl. Not
only does it prevent evolutions, it also can kill Jigglypuff in one attack.
for Raindance, Erica's Dratini, Aerodactyl and especially Electabuzz are all
good. Dodrio is for retreat aid.

Please no more e-mails saying 'at your local tournament do you come up
against such and such...' because I have never been to a tournament, but I
would like to go to one if I there were any in my area. Anyone else in this
situation? I would like to hear from them. Well that's all for just now. All
