Archetypes are a huge topic of debate here on Pojo. I've decided to put in
my thoughts in that whirling pool of cognitive impulses.

Archetypes are (of convention) defined as "Decks that everybody plays,
though they really shouldn't." Wigglytuff is a recent archetype that gets
ridiculed by everybody who loses to it.

To be quite honest, WE WILL NEVER BE RID OF ARCHETYPES!! EVER!!

No Prop 15, Prop 2T, banning of cards, or new card will ever rid us of
Archetypes. Archetypes are what everybody plays, no? I think everybody wants
to play a good deck. Some one finds an insanely good combination of cards
and starts razing other decks. Somebody says, 'Hey! That is a really good
deck! I'll make one just like it!' and then, woe and behold, a new Archetype
is born!

Archetypes will be continually played by less creative people who want to
win. That is the entirety of an Archetype. Suppose archetypes started
losing. What wold happen then? People would stop playing Archetypes, right?
Wrong. People would start playing new Archetypes.

If Prop 15 (Only 15 Trainers in a deck) is enforced, then a new Archetype
will pop up. Maybe Charizard will return with a chip on his shoulder, and
that will replace Haymaker. Or maybe Aerodactyl will begin to irk people. My
point is, SOMETHING WILL COME UP THAT PEOPLE WILL HATE, AND THAT WILL BECOME
AN ARCHETYPE! People will start ranting about that, and behold! A new
rule/ban/deck Archetype will pop up to destroy this new threat! Then the
cycle will repeat.

Anyway, I just wanted to let people know what I thought. Please respond to
powershadow5k@hotmail.com I'd love to hear what you think.

However, if you're sending worthless and thoughtless flame mail, send it to
Siberia. I heard it's cold there.
