Okay, I have just recently been thinkin of a great list of the top 5 from 3
catagories, trainers, basics, and evolutions.  I would like to take time to
show you all the list of these cards, but remember, this is only my opinion,
so you may have a different list.  But don't bash mine =P)

TOP 5 BASIC POKEMON OF ALL TIME

#1  The ever friendly Scyther is my top choice, he has a resistance to
fighting, and a great 2nd turn attack, but in a grass deck, you can be doing
60 every other turn.  A great card for any deck.

#2  The ever changing Ditto.  He is my #2 for a very good reason, any energy
to use opponents attack is just broken, but against a MP Mewtwo or other
pokemon with weakness to its type, watch out, a 2nd turn 120 damage (ala
Arcanine) is a very cool way to annoy your opponent.

#3  Team Rocket's Zapdos.  Plasma is so broken, you get a possible SER and 20
damage every turn for just 1 total enegy, for plasma.  Electroburn aint that
bad either, take out any of the BBP out there.

#4  MP Mewtwo.  The king of all psychic beatdown, this card gives you a 2nd
turn 40, and is almost immune to ER and SER.

#5  Magikarp.  Just joking, I hope no one fainted, it is really Fossil
Magmar.  An AWSOME card, 10 and a 50% of no attacking next turn for opponent
for 1 fiire energy is great, but for 2 fire energy, you get one of the best
fire attacks in the game, and 1 that has an effect normally limited to grass
types, SMOG!  Another great card.

Now for the Evolutions

#1  Wigglytuff.  Obviosly the most abused card in tournements, except for
Oak, A great card for almost any type of deck (i once put it in a Raindance
=P).  It can wreak havoc still in the prop 15/3 enviroment, but is weakend
only slightly, see chipmunks 3 articles about the East Coast STS (they are
really helpful).

#2  Alakazam.  Simply the key for any type of stall deck (duh).  Is at 32 for
his tournement use.  I see no needto have more than 2 of him in your deck
though, he cant do much when it comes to attacking =P).

#3  Blastoise.  In the past, would have been #1, due to his showing in many
decks of the West Coast STS, but prop 15/3 has greatly weakend him, but he is
a great card for just playing with friends =P)

#4  Venusuar.  Many awsome decks can be made with this card in them,
VenuCenter, Charsuar, and many more yet to be unleashed, but 60 damage aint
that bad when it comes to heavy hitting, Blastoise is higher than him for 1
reason, SPEED, although I have built a VenuCenter deck that can almost out
Race Wigglytuff decks, e-mail me for this deck, It might become an archtype.
I will try to give it to Doll in her deck garage (the best Mech IMO) for her
to fix up.

#5  The almighty....  Kabutops, I think not, LT Surge's Fearow, Clutch is
going to rule in the new 15/3 enviroment, put a nasty effect on like
confusion, and then clutch till dead, wash rinse repeat, put a Koga,s pokemon
in with it and a Koga, and you have a near unbeatable deck.

Now for the trainers.

#1  Professor Oak.  Simply stated has been and almost always will be the key
card in speed decks.  a standard for any deck

#2  Computer Search.  Find any card in your deck for only 2 cards, awsome,
when used with MP Mewtwo to get a 2nd turn Psyburn for either 40, 80, or 10
(=() damage, can be broken and pricless.  a standard for any deck

#3  Were you thinking Computer Error, I wasn't.  Item Finder.  The power card
of old, get any trainer back to your hand for 2 cards is geat =P  a standard
for any deck

#4  Nightly Garbage Run, will not see much use in the EC STS due to lack of
trainer spots, but again a standard for any deck, except for some STS decks.

#5  Chaos Gym, a great new card for the STS (see Ness' CotD), the ability to
lock down trainers, is awsome, when put into a trap deck, BROKEN.  Use your
opponents Oak when needed =P)  I recommend running 3 RSA and 3 Chaos Gym in
your STS deck, along with Lass and Oaks or Bill or Computer Search for
maximum effect.
