What's up? This is my first post and it may prove very useful. Please post
this, Pojo.

They're everywhere these days. Archetypes.  A Wiggly here, a Sponge
there, a Haymaker variant over there.  If you play with or against an
archetype, you might as well do it right.  Introducing...
Companions and Weaknesses to Archetype Pokemon! Dum da da dum da da da!

Let's start with Haymaker.  Haymaker is a combination of speed and
evolution, although most Haymakers I know are basics.  They can deliver
the goods with one or two energies.
BASE HITMONCHAN- Practically invented Haymaker.  A  fighting Pokemon
head-to-toe. 70 HP. Jab(20) for (F), Special Punch(40) for (FCC). Weak to
Psychic.  If your deck uses Hitmonchan, my Psy deck could womp it!
To womp it, use some good Psychics.  A one-shot psychic will have to do
40+ damage.  My favorite in this situation is Base Kadabra and its Super
Psy attack.  You, however, may want MP Mewtwo or Rocket's Mewtwo.  If this
thing is armed for Special Punch, even Base Mewtwo can kill it.  A
lucky Base Alakazam can completely defeat it, along with any strong Psychic.
Use Ghost Pokemon in case the person gets smart and uses Psychics.  If
you're on Hitmonchan's side, pack some strong Colorless
Pokemon or Ghost Pokemon.
ROCKET'S HITMONCHAN-  This is a tough one. Crosscounter can double damage
onto you with a heads for one F. For FFC, you can Magnum Punch for 50.  To
stop it, simply give it a status effect directly.  Use Rocket's Mewtwo to
Juxtapose if necessary.  If that Chan has low HP,
use Jigglypuff's pound if Jiggly hasn't been attacked.  Even if Jiggly
gets attacked 40, it still has 20 HP to spare.  In other words, a Pokemon
that does less damage than half its HP. As a companion, bring
some Colorless Pokemon for sure.  Learn how your opponent survives
Crosscounter if applicable and get the weakness for it.
ELECTABUZZ-  I'll bet you were wondering when I'd get to him. For 70
HP and a Basic, it's easy to get.  One L energy= 10 + 50/50 chance of
Paralysis. For an extra energy you can Thunderpunch. Heads will attack
for 40 damage quickly, and tails takes 10 of that damage to Electabuzz
instead.  To counter it is very simple.  Any Rhyhorn/Rhydon,
Diglett/Dugtrio, or Cubone/Marowak line.  A Base Diglett can beat it up
with two Fighting Energy! Dig first, then Mud Slap. Bam! 80 HP down the
drain.  All Electabuzz would do is ten! This is just Diglett. Dugtrio is
a one-hit Buzz killer.  The only electric the Diglett/Dugtrio line can't
put to shame is Zapdos! To accompany Electabuzz, use a Grass on the
Trainers who take my advice and use Grass-weak fighters, a Psychic on the
other fighters. A Venusaur or Kadabra powered up may be all you need.
SCYTHER-  You gotta love Scyther. 70 HP. For a Grass, double damage
on the second attack, Slash (30), with Swords Dance. (30x2=60) To beat
this Pokemon, use a fire Pokemon. A Blaine's Growlithe or a Charmander
with a PlusPower can completely annihilate it! If you don't want to be
in danger, use Charmeleon, Fossil Magmar, or Arcanine.  With Scyther,
use a few Water Pokemon. A Gyarados+Recall can defeat any Fire even when
damaged. If your opponent tries to attack beatdown-style with, say, a
Vileplume, use its Weakness. If you fight a Zapdos or something of the
such, beat it at its own game.
  ROCKET'S SCYTHER- See above.

Rain Dance is a powerful water deck that just adds more energy, and
more energy, and more energy, and more energy to water Pokemon with
Blastoise's Pokemon Power.  Any fire deck should exercise extreme caution.
BLASTOISE-  This is a 100 HP power hitter that can do 40-60 damage with 3
to 5 Water energy.  To defeat it, use an Electabuzz, Electrode,
Zapdos, or any other powerful Electric pokemon. Protect it as you would
from Electabuzz.
DEWGONG-  A Gyarados with 80 HP.  It can do 50 damage in the blink
of an eye, killing Arcanine in one Aurora Beam.  To defeat it, use a
40+ electric Pokemon. Defend it like Blastoise.
GYARADOS- The Hyrule shield of water Pokemon. (Zelda) It has 100 HP
and can do the same damage as Dewgong.  Unlike Dewgong, this guy is weak
against Grass.  In your Anti-Raindance deck, add Grass Pokemon. A
Venusaur is a one-hit killer.  An Exeggutor is even quicker. For every
energy, a possible 40 damage goes to Gyarados.  Try a Vileplume, too.
80 per heads flip! Scyther can do 60 without having to Swords Dance! To
protect the big dragon, use some very powerful Fire Pokemon.  If possible,
use a Gust of Wind to destroy little Exeggcute before it becomes a problem.
LAPRAS- Not the best Pokemon around. For 30 damage or 10+confusion, it is
a good staller. Yeah, right! Send out Buzz and KO it! To defend it, send
antishock fighters.
ARTICUNO- No weaknesses whatsoever.  Resistance to fighting.  In attacks,
it is like a backwards Dewgong.  To defeat it, simply use a
beatdown strategy.  Whatever you do, for God's sake don't use Fighting
Pokemon.  To defend it, either find the weakness of the defender or attack
savagely.

Wigglytuff decks use old Wiggly to attack.  Wiggly is the star, so use
Fighting Pokemon such as Brock's Mankey fast.  Gust the bench often and
use Narrow Gym.  Test your opponent and beat whatever he or she throws by
weakness or beatdown strategy.

If you're fighting a Sponge deck, get a copy of the attack from
Clefable or use Wiggly and Ghosts.  As a companion, use Grass-weak
Fighters.

If there are any other archetypes, you should by now know my strategy.
Find the weakness or weakness's weakness or simply use the beatdown strategy
from your or other Pokemon, my favorite. Happy gaming!
