Kev: Hello! Its me again, and Ive been out sick, so I haven't written in a
long time! I have a special suprise for everybody who remembers my Kadabra,
and that is that Ive tied him up, so he can't interfere!
BOOM!
Kadabra: <Hi!>
Kev: Or not. Okay, on with the card tip. As probably everyone's noticed,
there's been a lot of commotion about Prop 15 and archtypes.
Kadabra: <Anyone who hasn't noticed, stop reading and finish kindergarten>
Kev: Ahem, as I was saying, everyone's complaining about Prop 15 and
archtypes. Well, Ive got to say something about both, along with Gym
Challenge. Kadabra?
Kadabra: <Okay, first Prop15. All you people whining about Prop 15 right now
because your Hays and Trappers will be out of commision, please stop
reading, run to your local variety store, and buy some brains. Whining won't
do anything about it, and neither will hatemailing Wizards or ranting on
Pojo, even though ranting sure is fun. It wont have the slightest effect on
Wizards, and Prop15 will still be passed. And after you think it over, Prop
15 isn't is nearly as bad as it sounds. The average Hay has 25-30 trainers,
but cutting it in half will give you a chance to play a new Pokemon that you
preiviously didn't have room for, like Surge's Electabuzz. And its not
keeping you from winning, as your opponents have the same restrictions. As
for all you archtype haters, remember this: Archtypes arent that hard to
beat!!! They're only as good as the trainer that uses them!!!>
Kev: I'll take it from here. As Kadabra says, Hays and Wigglys arent
invincible, in fact, that's just an illusion. People think they're
unbeatable because every STS top 8 deck has been a Hay or Wiggly variant.
The concept of those decks is great, but a Haymaker can function just as
badly as a Rainbow Charizard deck if its trainer is not very good. Take a
look at my deck:

Ninetales' Revenge

Pokemon: 16
4 Vulpix
4 Ninetales
4 F. Magmar
3 Electabuzz
1 TR Moltres

Trainers: 18
4 Bill
3 Prof Oak
4 GOW
1 Comp. Search
3 Energy Retreival
2 Lass
2 Secret Mission

Energy: 25
20 Fire E.
5 Lightning E.

Yeah, yeah, high Energy count. Im gonna reduce it sooner or later. Anyway,
as you can see, the strategy is to lure the opponent into thinking this is a
standard Hay, then turning their Pokemon into a lump of charcoal with Fire
blast. You'd be amazed at how many Hays this has beat. Now, some advice on
deckbuilding.
If you're gonna make an Archtype, put something irregular. It will
not only make the deck more fun, but might just throw a hammer into your
opponents plans and he'll never know what hit him. It will also make you
more known at your local playing area. As my Fire deck was weird (Ninetales
is underused, and Im the only person there who plays him), a lot of kids
there know me because of the irony of getting roasted by the same Pokemon
over and over, that no one else has used before.
Kadabra: <Okay, enough of that. Who wants to hear about Gym Challenge!>
Kev: Hey, I was gonna do that part!
(a Ninetales lurking in the corner decides to act up.)
Ninetales: TTTAAYYLLEEESSS!
(it unloads a Flamethrower, and Kadabra is instantly fried to a crunchy
crisp)
Kadabra: <Ow...>
Kev: Thanks, Ninetales. Now, about Gym Challenge. With cards like Mistys
Goldeen, in gym Heroes, it was impossible to get a good rare, now its
impossible NOT to get a good rare with TR Mewtwo, TR Zapdos, Brocks
Ninetales, Blaine's Ninetales, Mistys Gyrados, Erica's Venusaur, and
Sabrina's Alakazam. Now, there still are lousy cards (nonholo Koga), but not
many. Sorry, I can't do an evaluation of any cards, as I dont have any on
hand.
Kev: Well, I guess that's it for today. I better keep training my Lapras in
Silver so I can beat the Dragon Gym. Then, I'll give another shot at
catching that $#&*(@)%& Lugia!!! See you later...
Kadabra: (runs by) <Here, catch!>
Kev: Wha...?
BONK!

You don't want to know what happened,
Kev and Kadabra
