I KNOW I am not the first person to have a rant regarding archetypes,
and certainly not the last. I think that the Archetypes are extremely
unoriginal, and there should be a limit of them on the Killer Deck Reports
page, because it is monotonous to see Haymaker, Trapper, Trapper,
Wigglytuff.... get the picture?  I do run Wiggly in some of my decks, but I
do not solely rely on it like many decks-most of the time it is only for
support in my decks(besides, I only have 2 Wiggly). I am a strong supporter
of Prop 15- it encourages creative themed decks. Now I'll list the top 3 of
each type (in my opinion- and NO archetypical Pokémon included).

Colorless
3. Eevee (lv.7) This guy is awesome! Its power works when most evolution does
not- on the first turn in play or YOUR OPPONENT'S TURN. It is also fine to
use in a pinch against Psychic-types. And it's cute, too! (not a real factor,
just want to have a little bit of fun :-)

2. Persian (lv. 25)  I know you have to put up with Meowth to get to it, but
the struggle is worth it! Scratch is pretty good, and Pounce removes the
threat of Movie Mewtwo completely. Add in a good HP level of 70 and no
retreat- what else can you ask for?

1. Clefable (lv. 34) Metronome. Enough said.

FIGHTING/GROUND
3. Rhyhorn (Lv.18) 70 HP is outstanding for a Basic that evolves, and the
Resistance AND Leer help increase defensive capability. Horn Attack could be
better, though....

2. Machamp (lv.67) The Strike-back plus Seismic Toss can K-O any Pokémon in
archetypes minus Scyther. 100 HP is very good, but watch out for Poison or
Psychic-types. With (Super) Potions, this Pokémon is able to not Seismic Toss
and still K-O a target!

1.Brock's Sandslash (lv.34) THIS CARD IS AN UNCOMMON??? It is nearly worthy
of Rare-Holo! 70 HP plus Resistance increase its defense, With 2 Pluspowers,
it takes that annoying clown (Mr. Mime) down in 1 hit with Swift, and can
also HIT Scyther. Fossil Haunter cannot escape Swift, either! Needle Ball is
super-broken, 2 for 30 is good enough, but if you add in 50% Poison (which is
an EXTREME rarity in Fighting), plus the Uncommon status, how good is this!
You may want to first Needle Ball until Poison strikes, and then Swift
mercilessly. Good in an anti-Wiggly deck.

GRASS/POISON/BUG
3. Venusaur (lv. 67). This card is the base of a Health Insurance-type deck.
Energy Trans aids it or a troubled Active Pokémon. Solarbeam is a good
4-for-60 attack with no strings on. A good card.

2. Erika's Gloom(lv.24) Another rare-worthy card. Healing Pollen is good for
stalling. Magic Pollen (if it works) is truly magic. Depending on the
strength and HP left of the defender, I suggest Poison or confusion first,
and then Paralysis or Poison. Watch out for Fire-types!

1. Erika's Vileplume (lv.34) Erika seems to have NO bad cards! Pollen Defense
and Mega Drain greatly increase its defense, plus 80 HP (but a little low for
a Stage 3). A great boon to Grass decks, and it does not confuse itself!

LIGHTNING
3. Dk. Jolteon. Its Lightning Flash  is broken: accuracy down for 20 damage--
ONE ENERGY! Perhaps it is to make up for its low HP.

2. Dk. Raichu. Two words: Bench Blaster!

1. Surge's Jolteon. It is a staple to Eeveelution decks. The first attack, if
heads can badly upset your opponent's plans. Its "Rage" attack is good, but
you better attach a Defender in case your coinflip is tails. Other than
relying on coins, this is a great card.

PSYCHIC
3. Dark Hypno. Bench Manipulation is great if your opponent is unlucky and if
you can keep this PKMN conscious for the buildup. Psypunch is a good 1-for-20
attack (considering Psychics are normally defensive). Low HP is a problem,
however.

2. Kadabra (lv.38) Another offensive Psychic Pokémon. Super Psy is a great
attack if it can use it (it only has 60 HP). If you're on defense, Recover is
your thing. Not good if it gets Gusted...

1. Espeon. I never said that I would not put Néo or other Japanese cards on
this list!:-P One of the better Eeveelutions. Bite makes it splashable into
any deck. Psychic is one of the better attacks: it can badly harm many
non-Hay Pokémon. Even better, 80 HP and FREE RETREAT COST! If my decks have
R, W, L, (and soon D and P), expect to see Eeveelutions.

WATER
3. Wartortle (lv.22) Many water decks go 4-0-4 for Blastoise. Don't! Bite is
a good, energy-efficient attack, and Withdraw is semi-defensive, but it is
too expensive for its effect. 1 Retreat and 70 HP don't hurt either!

2. Articuno (lv.35) Freezedry is a good attack, with a chance for paralysis.
Blizzard is good, but watch out if you flip tails. Some combos include the
Invisible Wall trainer in case you flip tails, and also, if the target has
more than 50 HP left, use Freeze Dry, and then Blizzard.

1. Misty's Dewgong (lv.40). This is yet another Rare-worthy card. Ice Throw
is super-effective against TWO types, Take Down is brutal to a lot of basics,
and is very energy-efficient, with only the small string of 20 recoil damage.
(Use Defender, Potion, or other recovery cards). Great (but do not use vs.
Hays).

Thanks...
