Hello Pojo readers.  I have known, like everyone else reading this, that two
decks rule the tourney, and have ruled them ever since pokemon came out.
Haymaker and Rain Dance.  Damage Swap is out because of Fossil.  And I also
know that about 90% of experienced pokemon players play these decks.  But
I've came up with some new decks to use, and I hope some of you out there
will try these, because even though that neighbor kids Haymaker might crush
you still, you'll probably have a hell of a lot more fun that he will.  Here
they are.
1. Speedrill- I remember a long time ago I saw this killer deck on the Pojo,
but ever since it has been long forgotten.  The types are Grass and
Electric, and the combo is to start with Weedle, with Voltorb on the bench.
Use a Pokemon Breeder for Beedrill, evolve Voltorb to Electrode, Buzzap, and
vuala!  40 damage with poison on the second turn.  and the great thing is,
he has free retreat so u don't need to worry about poison.  Throw in some
Electabuzz and Scyther, and you've got yourself a great deck
2. Arcanine- this follows the same principle as the Speedrill, using
Arcanine instead of Beedrill, replacing the Breeders with Defenders or
Switches, and throwing in some Double Colorless.  Don't use any electric
energy this time, and put some Fossil Magmar in, and this deck is one huge
powerhouse.

Now, those two aren't the only decks I have on this letter, but I must
interrupt for a sec.  They both use the great Electrode to run rampant,
which leaves them open to ER's, and giving the opponent isn't very good
either, but they are still good.  This next deck isn't open as much to the
ER's, and resembles a haymaker quite closely.  Here it is, and I hope you
like it.

3. Tuff Haymaker- This deck I've seen a lot lately, and most people use
fighting and grass.  The fighting is there for Hitmonchan, and only
Hitmonchan, and the Grass is for those Call for Family attacks, and Scyther
always gets better in Grass decks.  Then you can use about a 4-3 ratio on
the Wigglytuff family, and you've got two pokemon that do 60 damage on the
second turn! (Scyther and Wigglytuff).  Plus, if you should throw in Double
Colorless of course, and plus powers for those annoying Haymaker basics.

That's also a nice deck to use, but it lacks power late in the game, and
definately dies against the bench killer.  But these next decks don't fall
to any of those problems.

4. Fire Spin- This is a full grass deck with Charizard thrown in, and I'm
sure you've seen it before.  It uses Chansey, and Lickitung to stall while
you put an energy down EVERY turn, then finally when you've got Charizard
and Venusaur out, put Charizard out and Transfer Energy to it every turn and
use Fire Spin every turn.  A very versatile deck because energy removal
barely harms this deck, and Pokemon Centers work wonders when you can heal
your pokemon without discarding energy, and u can also use the Venusaur
Chansey Pokemon Center combo.
5. Foul Deck- This deck is pure Grass, and uses Scyther and Nidoran girl to
start out good, then gets Koffing to Confuse or poison them, then when
Koffing dies, use Gloom to do the same with poisonpowder then Foul Odor,
then evolve to Vileplume and petal dance them to death, healing him with
Full Heal, and finally using Venomoth to sweep up the rest of the Confused
mess.

Those are my decks,(not exactly mine, but...) and I think they will make
your game more enjoyable.  But of course the stupid Gym sets will ruin all
of the fun of pokemon, but that's another article for another day.
