Well I figured since I did one for Gym Heroes, why not do a review for GC??

Ratings are from 1-10, similiar to Ness' scale for his COD (hope he does'nt
mind) ;)

Here we Go!

Blaines's Arcanine: We've all heard about this pooch. The one and only 120
damage attack so far in the game.  But this Firestorm comes at a cost....a
discard of 3 R energies.  Well Heat Tackle isnt bad, and with a few
Retrievals and Blaine then Firestorm is good too.
Rating: 8

Blaine's Charizard: What a Charizard!  Base is considered too slow, or too
expensive, while Rocket is too weak.  This guy has no flaws. Roaring Flames
is broken. Sure you need to discard 3-4 energies, but you are left with 1.
Always. Next Turn Blaine to do it again. Or even just Retrieval for a Flame
Jet. 100 hp and Fight resistence is great. Sure 3 retreat isn't good, but its
Charizard.
Rating: 9

Brock's Ninetales: Oooh. Shapeshift. How sneaky. Unfortunently, that whole
Ninetales-Blastoise-Charizard combo can't work. Oh well. He's still pretty
good for confusing your oppenent.
Rating: 6.5

Erika's Venusaur: Ok this is one guy who doesn't live up to all the hype.
Growth is good, but Wide Solarbeam is not worth it.  Combo this guy with Base
Venusaur with a Growth-Trans-Solarbeam combo.
Rating: 4

Giovanni's Gyarados: Not too bad here. 90 Hp is good.  Summon Storm not too
bad for W. If using Transparent Walls.  Dragon Tornado decent.  Nothin to
rave about, but still good.
Rating: 6.5

Giovanni's Machamp: WOW. This guy could make even Fight Resistent Pokemon
shudder. Fortitude makes it harder to keep him down, While Hurricane Punch is
sheer power. Beware 4 arms.
Rating:7

Giovanni's Nidoking: Geez. Giovanni trains some powerful Pokemon. 120 Hp???
Base's 90 was good, this is even better. Intimidate good for stopping
low-level pests, while Tumbling Attack is sheer power as well, but better as
its not as risky as Hurricane Punch.
Rating: 7.5

Giovanni's Persian: Well you knew this was coming. What happened to the sheer
power though?? Gone here, but replaced by a sneaky Pokemon Power. Call the
Boss gets you that needed Giovanni in a snap. Ambush not too bad. Much better
then the horrible Dark persian of Rocket.
Rating: 6

Koga's Beedrill: Hmm. Not bad for Status effects, dealing Poison AND
paralysis with a heads.  Hyper Needle not bad for a one-time shot at taking
out an immentent threat.
Rating: 6.5

Koga's Ditto: Aye caramba! Starts out a wimpy little blob, then grows to a
powerhouse (sort of)  Not bad for stopping a Psychic assault. Otherwise
average.
Rating: 7

Surge's Raichu: Another one? One wasnt enough? Hmm. Well the Raichu of GH was
expensive. This one hurts himself.  Which is better? Your call really...
Rating: 5.5

Misty's Golduck: Hey Psyduck evolved! Finally. And he's not too bad either.
You get your choice of dealing 40 damage or sapping an oppenent's energy.
Good either way. ER decks get a boost.
Rating: 7.5

Misty's Gyarados: What Power!! WWWW for 70 and no drawback is great. Except
there is a drawback. Rebellion is probably the stupidest Power yet. But a
fossil Muk or Goop Gas Attack will stop his Rebellion cold.
Rating: 8

Rocket's Mewtwo/Zapdos: Ah yes, the long awaited Rocket Pokemon. Both are
either broken, or near it. Mewtwo's 3 attacks are all good. Zapdos is a
powerhouse as well. Nuff said.
Ratings: 9.5

Sabrina's Alakazam: Psychic decks get a boost with this guy!.  Pyslink is
great in mono-psy decks. Mega Burn is great. Many combos will exist with him.
Rating: 9.5

Blaine: The perfect thing to power up his Charizard, Magmar, or Arcanine.
Rating: 10

Giovanni: The fastest way to get a Gyarados.
Rating: 9.5

Koga: Insta-Poison!
Rating: 8.5

Sabrina: A psychic Energy Trans
Rating: 7

Blaine's Ninetales: Wow. Healing Fire is great. Burn Up is great. 60 Hp not
great. Good outweighs bad here.
Rating: 7

Brock's Dugtrio: Good for same reasons as Blaine's Ninetales (with different
attacks of course)
Rating: 7

Giovanni's Nidoqueen: Well, Mega Kick is solid. Love Lariat risky though. Not
too bad however.
6.5

Giovanni's Pinsir: Hmm. Better than Jungle
Rating: 6.5

Koga's Arbok: Very sneaky. Very effective, despite the fact he must be
poisoned to do so.
Rating: 8

Koga's Muk: I smell a new Archetype. Energy Drain is great considering it
works every turn. Sludge Whirlpool solid.
Rating: 8

Koga's Pidgeotto: Hmm. Would be better if not so many coin flips. Decent when
you get heads.
Rating: 5.5

Surge's Jolteon: Much better then Jungle, as its not as risky.
Rating: 6.5

Sabrina's Gengar: The 1st one wasnt good enough?? This guy is just as good,
dealing damage (albeit not much) while stopping Pokemon Powers. Shadow Bind
good if def. pokemon is poisoned.
Rating: 7.9

Sabrina's Golduck: OUCH. Damage Shift hurts if you have alot of benched, hurt
Pokemon. A win-win-win situation with him; no coin flip, heal yourself, hurt
oppenent.
Rating: 9 (would be 10 if not for Electabuzz)

Blaine's Charmeleon: Fire Claws a solid 1st turn attack (with Blaine) Bonfire
not really worth it. Decent build up for Charizard.
Rating: 5.9

Blaine's Dodrio: Cheap. Cheap. 2 for 50 good. Tails for nothin bad.
Considering its his ONLY attack... even worse.
Rating: 1

Blaine's Rapidash: Ness already rated it. I agree with him.

Brock's Graveler: .....Detonate not as bad, considering it won't kill
himself. Tackle average.
Rating: 5.9

Brock's Primeape: Hey not bad here. Scram useful, as he wil lnever get Ko'ed
(as long as he isn't asleep etc). Mega Thrash good for cost. Nice card

Brock's Sandslash: A fighting Pokemon dealing Poison? Ooh sneaky. Didn't see
that coming. Good stage 1.

Brock's Vulpix: Er. Um. Ok.

Erika's Bellsprout: A THIRD Bellsprout?? Geez Erika. Regardless, this one is
probably the best of the 3. Soak up is great in preparation for her
Weepinbell and Victreebell. Stretch Vine sux though.

Erika's Bulbasaur: Kind of simple, but Sleep Seed is not bad for slowing down
the opponent. Errand Running can get you that need Bill, GOW or whatever.

Erika's Clefairy:  Again simple but effective.

Erika's Ivysaur: Hmm. Double Razor Leaf is real nice. But Relaxing Scent? It
seems to me that DRL would be halved as well. If thats the case, then either
don't use him to attack, or call out the Muks

Giovanni's Machoke: Risky attack.....is TOO risky. Headlock good, but could
be better

Giovanni's Meowth: False Charity kinda like a RSA. Thats the best thing about
him. Other then that...nothin that good.

Giovanni's Nidorina:  Poison Sting Tackle great....if not for the self damage
AND a coin flip. Body Slam average. 80 hp great though.

Giovanni's Nidorino: Rend?? What kind of name for an attack is that? Possible
40 is ok.

Koga's Golbat: Cover your ears! Sonic Scream good, but kinda expensive. Bite
average. Not bad...

Koga's Kakuna: Evolve to Beedrill fast! But not before Toxic Secretion.

Koga's Koffing: Hit and run is the name of the game here. With a smokescreen
and all that gas, who has time to hit this Koffing?

Koga's Pidgey: WOW. For such a weak basic, it's attack, Messanger is great.
Send him right out, then Messanger to get a better Pokemon.

Koga's Weezing: Koga likes 20 poison damage doesn't he? It shows once again
with his Weezing and Toxic Cloud. Another great status changer.

Surge's Eevee: Weak

Surge's Electrode: Good, but would be better if Shock Blast didn't hurt
yourself.

Surge's Raticate: Looks kinda like Chansey to me. Only with alot less HP

Misty's Dewgong: Ice Throw huh? Do double damage to Chan. Kool. Take Down
sheer power (there's alot of that in this set)

Sabrina's Haunter: I like this Haunter better. Sure you can't do 120 damage
(which is a rarity to begin with) but you get 70 hp and sleep.

Sabrina's Hypno: Invigorate is a revive. P. Curse good when def. Pokemon is
already hurt.

Sabrina's Jynx: Eh... Helping Hand is a double-edged sword here. If you
really need cards, then go for it. Hug is......ugh.

Sabrina's Kadabra: Here we go. LifeDrain. Thats all you need to know.

Sabrina's Mr. Mime: No comment here

Blaine's Charmander: Fast attacker, deals 40 to Scyther turn 1!

Blaine's Doduo: Not worth it since Dodrio isn't worth it.

Blaine's Growlithe: Stoke can prepare you for Arcanine. Body Slam is ok.

Blaine's Mankey: Another fun-loving Mankey. Pranks can hurt your opponent, if
you discard something valuble to them.

Blaine's Ponyta: Good 1st turn attacker w/ DCE. 40 to Scyther. Yee haw!

Blaine's Rhyhorn: Hm. Decent here. Horn Charge risky, but for only 1 energy,
hey why not. Overrun not bad for bench destruction.

Blaine's Vulpix: Just like an energy retrieval. Only better. Or maybe not...
You get energy back; more than enough said.

Brock's Diglett: Powerful for such a little guy. Tremor also helps in Bench
Destruction.

Brock's Geodude: Another leader with 3 of one Pokemon? Sheesh. This 'Dude
seems like the Fossil one. With the possiblity of infinite damage.

Erika's Jigglypuff: Hmm.  Group Therapy is ok, except it helps the opponent.
Pulled Punch decent too. Nothin to rave about here

Erika's Oddish:.......A 3rd Oddish......and it's not even that good. The
other ones were better.

Erika's Paras: About average here, but Poison Spore is nice for bench damage.

Giovanni's Machop: Solid fighter here. Decent attacks, that are pretty fast.

Giovanni's Magikarp: Use the Giovanni trainer to get Gyarados as ASAP. Or
else hope that Ancestral Memory deals its 40 damage before you get Ko'ed.

Giovanni's Nidoran M/F: Both are ok starters, as they can both attack with
only one energy; however they do have some risky attacks...

Koga's Ekans: Only worth it because his Arbok is so good.

Koga's Grimer: His Muk has to come from somewhere, and in this case, he
starts off pretty strong. Sludge Grip good for getting out that near death
Pokemon hiding on the bench. Slapping it with poison is icing on the cake.
Sludge Toss ok.

Koga's Koffing: Cheapest bench hitter out there. Only a grass energy nets you
10 damage and a shot at the opponent's bench. Course 40 hp doesn't help too
much.
Rating: 5.5

Koga's Pidgey: The 1st one was better, however this guy isnt the worst card
out there.
Rating: 4

Koga's Tangela: Kinda pathetic actually. Only ten damage and sleep? Hmm. Not
bad, but not real good either. Grasping vine isn't worth it with Bill around.
Rating: 3

Koga's Weedle: A decent basic. Can attack first turn, then on turn two a
guaranteed status effect. Nice starter. Not to shabby late game either.
Rating: 6

Koga's Zubat: Uhg. Well at least you can search for more Zubats with Group
Attack.
Rating: 4

Surge's Pikachu: Can attack first turn, but weaker then the GH one.
Rating: 4.5

Surge's Rattata: Surge likes Focus Energy doesn't he? Unfortunently, he
taught it to alot of weak Pokemon. Too bad for Rattata.
Rating: 3.5

Surge's Voltorb: Not bad, actually has more then 40 hp.
Rating: 4

Misty's Horsea: Hey it's another Smokescreen effect. Only better since it
lasts more than one turn (should your opponent not bench, evolve)
Rating: 5.5

Misty's Magikarp: In the history of all Magikarps.... this one sucks too. At
least you can POSSIBLY prevent all damage.
Rating: 2.5

Misty's Poliwag: Hey it's Amnesia again!  Thats good considering you might
not get to do Bubbles next turn.
Rating: 4.5

Misty's Psyduck: Verrrry interesting here. 3 coin flips, 3 different effects.
All are beneficial. And only for one psychic energy too....
Rating: 7

Misty's Seel: Decent here. Good starting Pokemon.
Rating: 5

Misty's Staryu: Not bad considering you can return him to your hand.
Rating: 4.5

Sabrina's Abra: Verry situational. Would be really good in ER decks though...
Rating: 4

Sabrina's Abra #2: Probably the best Abra out there yet
Rating: 5.7

Sabrina's Drowzee: No comments here...

Sabrina's Gastlys:  The 30 Hp one is not worth it, even with Fade Out.
The 40 Hp one however, is verry interesting. Sabrina (the Trainer) would come
in handy here to give you a Gastly with 100+ Hp!!
Rating: 7

Sabrina's Porygon: It's a Porygon. Nuff said here
Rating: 2.5

Sabrina's Psyduck: Only good because Golduck is good.
Rating: 3.5

Brock's Protection: Combo with No Removal Gym to make ER really hard.
Rating: 6.5

Chaos Gym: Lives up to it's name, when trainers are the game.
Rating: 7

Erika's Kindness: Double-edged sword here. Good if your really hurt bad if
they are.
Rating: 6.8

Giovanni's Last Resort: Hmm. I don't know. Seems bad considering you do not
draw another hand after it.
Rating: ???

Surge's Secret Plan: Another confusing card. No comment yet
Rating: ???

Misty's Wish: Good either way since you get a card added to your hand.
Rating: 6.5

Resistence Gym: Another way to destroy Wiggly. Good if fighting alot or
Pokemon with Resistence and you didn't have one to begin with.

Blaine's Quiz #2: Like an infinite Bill. Use with Caution though.
Rating: 6

Blaine's Quiz #3: Same as #2, but generally easier for opponent to guess
right.
Rating: 5

Cinnibar Gym: Wow. No water weakness for Blaine's Pokemon??? Get Charizard
ready!
Rating: 10

Fuchsia Gym: Like a Scoop Up that can used repeatedly
Rating: 7.5

Koga's Ninja Trick: Jury is out on this one.
Rating: ???

Master Ball: Very good here. Get any evolution or basic in 7 cards? Great.
Shuffled back? Better. No coin flip?? WOW.
Rating: 10

Max Revive: Two energies a small price to pay for a Basic returned to the
bench with full Hp.
Rating: 9

Misty's Tears: Helps water decks even more.
Rating: 8.5

Rocket's Minefield Gym: Too bad it effects the player of the card as well as
the opponent.
Rating: 7

Rocket's Secret Experiment: Like a Computer Search without the discard, but
with a coin flip instead...
Rating: 5

Sabrina's Psychic Control: ANOTHER confusing card.... don't know how to rate
Rating: ???

Saffron Gym: Could become part of a Psy-Center deck?
Rating: 4

Viridian Gym: Combo with Giovanni to keep your Pokemon healed fast.
Rating: 7

Fervor: Can either make, or break your game depending on what the 3 cards are.
Rating: 5

Transparent Walls: Stop bench destruction decks fast.
Rating: 5

Warp Point: A double GOW. Situational IMO.
Rating: 5.3

Well that wraps up this looong article.  Hope you enjoy it. I will more than
likely write one when Neo: Genesis comes out. Until next time Pojoholics.
