To respond to the collector who wrote this article, one must look at this
from the point of view of the largest group of consumers, the people who play
the game, not just collect the cards.  Nonholo versions of Holo cards allow
those of us who want to put together a deck using the best cards (which,
ultimately, are often rares or holos) and not have to buy so much in order to
trade for the cards needed.  It may be true that Wizards is doing this "to
make more money on boosters and to make the set larger" but it helps those
who play the game considerably.  Think how hard it would be to get an
Aerodactyl or Articuno if Fossil was put together as you say.  Scyther and
Wigglytuff would almost never be played because the Holos would be gobbled up
as fast as they were pulled from a pack.  All these pokemon (and more) are
integral parts in major archetypes, but only because they are non-holo as
well as holo.  As for Shelling out $150 for a box, even Wizards sells boxes
for cheaper, so I must say that you're getting gypped.  I would have no
problem getting a rare and a rare holo in every pack, but expect them to up
the price if they choose to do that.  Also, Gym 1 & 2 will not be a big
failure if they cut it down as so, although we will all get sick of the
worthless baics and uncommons.   Even if it doesn't please collectors, it
will be a LOT easier to get those Rocket Zapdos or Misty's Gyarados and so
on.  Anyway, the only complaint I have about Wizards (other than Base 2) is
the huge amount of time wasted between release of different sets.  They
should have released rocket back in January and Gym 1 by March.  We should be
coming up on Gym 2, but instead we have to wait another couple of months
until Gym 1.  Well, that's my opinion, please feel free to complain if you
disagree.
