Well, I decided to post my new opinion on archetypes. Most of you may
remember my bashing of Haymakers, and I once thought they should be banned.
But why ban archetypes when it's more fun to beat them? The best strategy a
person can think of to "ban" archetypes is to beat an archetype repeatedly
until they give up and try a new deck. My Incredibly Annoying Stall Deck
(which is an archetype, mind you) destroyed 10+ Haymakers, and a few of the
Hay players actually ditched their decks for some better metagame strategy.
(I also beat my friend's Anti-Stall with my Stall, but that's a different
story ;-) ) So if the deck everyone's using is a Wiggly deck, make an
Anti-Wiggly. The Wiggly players might have to make a different deck to
counter it. But if you're making an anti-hay, DON'T use Hitmonchan to counter
Electabuzz, Fossil Magmar to counter Scyther, etc...because you're still
using a Haymaker. Kadabra is a strong Anti-Hay card because it can't be KOed
by a Haymaker Pokémon in one hit (unless it's a swords-danced Scyther or
Hitmon with 2 Plus Powers) and Super Psy kills Hitmon in one hit.
