Pojo:

While sitting around toying with deck modifications, a
funny thought hit me. When I awoke from
unconciousness, I thought some more about it, and
finally decided to mail my idea to you. (How does it
fit through all the tiny wires?)

But here's my crazy and probably magical concept:

Would a deck without (basic) energy work?

The whole purpose of the deck would be to stall
indefinetly, but it
might be playable. Here's an example of a deck, with
explainations for
each card:

MEANDERING GREEN! (Title, I really like the word
meandering)

4 Fossil Grimer (get Muk, higher HP than Rocket)
3 Muk (Stop Dark Vileplum, and everyone else's PP)
4 Chansey (Soak up damage, Basic, resistance to
Psychic)
4 Scyther (nice HP, Basic, No retreat cost, resistance
to fighting,
we've all heard it before...)

(yeah yeah, all rares...)

4 Pokemon Center (no energy cards to remove...)
4 Potion (use two, three in a row, watch opponent's
eyes glow red)
2 Super Potion (I said no BASIC energy)
4 Defenders (highly under-rated, excellant stall)
4 Scoop Up (look at you, all scuffed up! Come up here
for a minute)
4 Mr. Fugi (I don't need you right now)
4 Switch (Mr. Fugi is waiting for you)
3 Gambler (I don't need you, or you, aw shoot, the
whole lot of ya go back)
4 Item Finder (just one more time, please?)
4 Computer Search (Come here, right now!)

4 DCE (Chasey is a powerhouse when used right)
2 Potion Energy (For super potion, obvious reasons)
2 Full Heal Energy (See above)

12 Basic
 3 Stage One

37 Trainers

 8 non-basic energys

Using this deck, you would need to get your Muk
out as soon as possible, and do a lot of thumb
twidlling, saving cards to use when the time is
perfect. Retreat, Switch, Scoop Up to keep your guys
alive. A few Midnight Garbage Runs would be an
excellent addition so you can get back your Muk,
Scyther, etc. But remember, when you lay an energy,
your opponent will probably remove it immeditely,
because removals become a mere waste of space in face
of MEANDERING GREEN! But think about it: if your
opponent is running 4 E. Removals and 4 SER, thats 14%
of their  deck that is worthless fodder (although once
they realize your statagy, they'll probably use them
on Comp. Searches, Item finders) I know that this
sample deck is far from perfect and most goods decks
would probably do a little jig, all six prizes in
hand, on MEANDERING GREEN before laughing at your pile
of 6 prize cards, untouched on the table.
But the point is: Energy takes up too much space. Use
trainers instead. If you feel really lucky, you could
go with 4 Digger, 4 Recycle, and 4 Itemfinder,(to get
them back). You could, in theory, do 120 damage from
Digger alone.

anybody!)
