For this article, i'm going to explain the pros and cons using fire as
one of your deck types(or your only type). In the future, I will make further
articles on all the other types.
It is clear that Fire can dish out some serious damage for their hefty
energy costs.  It is also obvious that many of their attacks require
discarding energy.  Yet, when Fossil was released, fire's reputation has
changed.  Many have taken advantage of fossil Magmar.  Also, some quick
learners have noticed the Ponyta/Rapidash family extremely swift as well.
Those three pokemon have the commonality of NOT discarding any energy cards
for attacking.  Of course, there are the "traditional" evolutions, such as
the Growlithe,Charmander, and Ninetales evolutions.  The Charmander evol can
be used wit' a Venusaur deck for some 'Trans an' Burn."  Ninetales is
strongly restricted to mono-fire decks, and Arcanine can dish out the damage
wit' a little help from DBC.  Most fire pokemon can take more raw damage than
any other type, which allows them to take out more pokemon singlehandedly
much more better than those li'l Gaymakers.  Of course, the sole threat of
Water makes fire a risky type to use, unless you're only using Moltres.
Overall, by opinion, these are the top fire pokes:Magmar(either one, but
fossil is faster),Ponyta/Rapidash, and Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard.
Well, that's the bottom line cuz da Hamster said so.  Later y'all!
