Pojo, please post this under TCG Stratagys, thanks.

No, I do not think there is a cure to Haymaker, and I can't think of a deck
that dominates it either.  But, I do know some cards that give Haymaker
problems.  First of all, what makes a Haymaker tick?  Well I think its
speed.  It has fast basic Pokemon, the tons of trainers that not only make
there Pokemon faster, but make yours slower.  They are annoying, and are
very hard to beat.  So if you want to make a deck that would perform well
against a Haymaker, you have to try to kill its speed.  Ok, lets veiw
Pokemon in a Haymaker deck.  Electabuzz, Hitmonchan/MP Mewtwo/Fossil Magmar,
and Scyther are the most common ones I see.  I hardly ever see Magmar, rarly
see MP Mewtwo, but see Hitmonchan alot, so Ill talk mainly about him
(Personally I think MP Mewtwo is better then both Magmar and Hitmonchan).
So we have Pokemon with weakness to Psychic, Fighting, and Fire.  And a
Pokemon with resistance to Fighting.  Ok so now that we know the weaknesses,
we want to some Pokemon that can hurt the speed, but also cover the
weaknesses. I probably wouldnt put in Fighting pokemon, because of
Scyther... at the most two Hitmonchans.  A good Psychic Pokemon, to cover
'Chan, is the MP Mewtwo.  He can kill Hitmonchan in one hit, kills Scyther
and 'Buzz in two hits, and doesn't get pumbeled by those stupid ER and SER,
that are so common in Haymaker.  He may not kill speed, but prevents the
disruption better then other Pokes.  Now a Fire Pokemon, for Scyther,
hmmm... Rapadash!  He has a colorless attack, and Agility (2 red and a
colorless) that does 30 damage, and can kill Scyther (if you have a
PlusPower) in one hit, and can stop the attack next turn with the flip.  Hit
points arnt great for a stage-1 but also isnt weak to anything from the
common Haymaker, and has a free retreat.  Another Pokemon that kills the
speed a bit but is kind of a slow attacker is Fossil Haunter.  He has a 25%
of being touched, but only doing 10 damage is a stinker.  He can do 20 to
Hitmonchan and has a resistance to him.  He can retreat for free, so when
you weaken the pokemon you can retreat him and bring up something that would
do better damage.  Also some trainers I would add are:  Gust of Wind, bring
up the Pokemon that has the weakness to you.  PlusPower, Often attacks will
come 10 damage short of killing a Pokemon, and if you let that Haymaker's
pokemon survive that one more turn, it will either kill you or be "Scooped"
back into the owners hand.  Lass:  stops them from playing a critical
PlusPower next turn, and when played correctly will hurt them more then you.
ER/SER:  Since a Haymaker will usually run 2 or more colors, these things
can hurt them preety bad sometimes. And possibly Switch, it isn't a great
card, but helps you out with the gust of winds and allows you to get a
pokemon that had an advantage over the current defending pokemon.  Now that
I have said this, I would also like to say something else.  If you make a
deck that is designed to defeat a different deck, it is not likly to do too
great against other decks.  Also there is probably no deck that could be
made, with current american cards, that will totally kill Haymaker... keep
that in mind.  The only card that I know of at the moment that will give
Haymaker a big problem is Evil Vileplume.  But when he comes out, he will be
combated with Muks most likly, so he may not even end Haymaker like so many
other people in my area think.  Also Gust of Wind can bring up the
Oddishes/Gloomes, so a deck like that will probably need pokemon that will
give off statuse effects, sleep, paralis, confusion.  I personaly think that
haymaker will learn to adapt to evil vileplume.  That is about all i have to
say about haymaker.
