Before I begin, let me just say something to those of you who saw the title
and started laughing. No, I have not recently had any brain surgery or major
blows to the head. No, I am not making a joke. I am dead serious when I say
that Porygon is a good card. Now I know why every person out there thinks it
sucks:

1)30 HP
2)It can't deal damage to the opponent.
3)It has a retreat cost (not good for a card like this).
4)Weakness to Fighting (Bite-sized for a Machop or Hitmonchan).

Well, it just so happens that if you have enough skill, it can be one of the
greatest cards you have in your deck. Here's why:

OK, the 30 HP really hurts, but it has a -30 Resistance to Psychic. Isn't
that what typical Psychic Pokemon can only deal anyway? Even if it doesn't,
it won't do much more than a Potion can fix. Same thing can be said for
every other type except for Colorless Pokemon, thanks to Conversion 2. These
traits make it ideal for a stall deck.

I love Conversion 1. You may think, "Big deal. It doesn't matter what the
Defending Pokemon's Weakness is, it still can't deal damage. It's
pointless." Wrong. What you fail to recognize is that the card doesn't say
HOW LONG that altered weakness remains in effect. It can last for the rest
of the time that card is in play. Keep a Porygon or two on your bench to
stall and to change the Defending Pokemon's weakness to the type of your
deck. Do it each time your opponent changes Pokemon. Pretty soon all of your
opponent's cards are weak to your entire deck. This works with any deck, as
long as you want the advantage. You don't always have to have Porygon as
your Active, it can die off if you want it to. The personalized weakness is
still there. It's Colorless, too, so you can put it into any deck.

True, you still need luck and skill to use this card to its full advantage,
but doesn't every card? I hope that by reading my article, you will see that
this card is awesome, and every deck could benefit from 2 or 3. So stop
bashing the little digital seizure-starter. He's not as bad of a card as you
think. Lastly, one more advantage to using Porygon in your deck: playing one
may make your opponent laugh so hard, he/she can't concentrate, because they
haven't realized its potential, like you have. Until next time...
