Most people think that Pokedex (look at your top 5 cards then rearrange them
as you like.) is a card that belongs in a binder and not in a deck. I will
agree this card in a deck alone with no combo is useless. But most people
forget to look at the positive sides of this card. This card used with a bill
(rated by most critics the best trainer in the game) can get you the cards
you want instead of just grabbing the first 2. Also with a computer search
you can see if the card you want is one of the first five (Which has happened
to me MANY times), if it is there you don't have to spend the costly amount
of 2 discard and just draw that card the next turn.  This card could be used
with Professor Oak. By using Pokedex you can determine whether to use your PO
or to wait till you draw the five cards.

Though Pokedex not vary useful on its own it sometime would come in handy
(maybe that's why "Handy 505" is printed on the Japanese Pokedex!). This
could come in handy if you are only drawing trainers or Pokemon and not
energies. Say you are facing the classic Hitmonchan vs. Chansey. You've got
one prize left and you used jab last turn. You have a F energy on it and only
R energies in your hand. The opponent has to other Chansey's on the bench and
a Kadabra just dieing to evolve. You've got a Mankey (base 2) and an Ominyte
on the bench. You know that there is know Alakazam in your opponents hand or
is the next card in his deck. What do you do? You use a Pokedex to get a F
energy on top of your deck. attach R energy attack with jab. Wait till your
opponent ends his turn draw your F energy then attack with Special Punch and
you win.

So you can see Pokedex is best used with combo but can be used alone. Thanks
Pojo if you post my card strategy,
