Hey all,

First before I get started let me say that this article is definately
meant for some response, good or bad. Let me hear your opinions...Anywho
without furthur ado let's get to it...Oh yeah I rate each card on a
scale of 1 to 10 after a short review.

Promo #1 -  Pikachu (Leage Promo)

Great card ,without a doubt. 60 HP makes it very durable and can last a
few turns in there. Thundershock ,costing only 2 energies, deals 20
damage with added bonus of flipping to see if you paralyze the opponent.
It is a very fast attacker and to me is the Pikachu of choice. Also it's
one energy retreat cost is very good.

Overall Score: 8.5

Promo #2 - Electabuzz (First Movie)

Well in comparison to base Electabuzz this one is not so good. But it
has it's finer points. Lightscreen is a great stall early in the game
and can keep 'Buzz going for a while. Quick Attack is a decent attack
but is tricky as it only does 10 unless you flip heads. As I said ,and
as you already knews, Base 'Buzz is simply better. But this one is not
as bad as some would make it out to be. I would have given it a 7...But
the two energy retreat cost lowered the score.

Overall Score: 6.0

Promo #3 - Mewtwo (First Movie)

Probably the most used of all the Promo cards. Movie Mewtwo has found
it's way into many a psychic deck these days. Great in the middle stages
of any game. Energy Absorption by passes the process of putting three
energies on him in one turn. Making him a potential second turn attacker
after you put him down, granted he isn't your starter at the beginning
of the game. Psyburn
is a great attack and 40 damage for a Psychic Pokemon is great. Should
be in most psychic decks IMHO.

Overall Score: 9.5

Promo #4 - Pikachu (First Movie)

Ahh...Pikachu makes a second appearence in the Promo series. This one is
also rather good ,no doubt about it. 50 HP is about the norm for basic
pokemon so there is no problem there. As it was for the first Pika Promo
the retreat cost is only one. Recharge gets you a way to get two
lightening energy on Pikachu a turn should you have one in your already.
Thunderbolt is a great attack, doing 50 damage. Only drawback is that
you have to discard all your energies. This makes Pikachu a very energy
costly Pokemon. But still this card is great and should appear in many
lighening decks as well.

Overall Score: 8.0

Promo #5 - Dragonite (First Movie)

First Promo featuring a Pokemon Power. "Special Delivery" really isn't
anything to get that excited about. Supersonic Flight is dependant on
the coin flip. Those are the draw backs...But hey, if your good with the
coin this guy could be good for you. Also his 90 HP is nice and high and
a 2 retreat cost for a staage 2 ain't bad at all. Still I would go with
Fossil Dragonite if you played the Dratini line...But with TR in play
now, Drak Dragonair has truly become the dragon to use.

Overall Score: 5.5

Promo #6 - Arcanine (League Promo)

Once again we see Quick Attack ,which isn't a bad attack, but needs some
good coin flips to do serious damage. But that's not Arcanine's strong
point...Flames of Rage is. 40 Damage ,plus 10 for each damage counter on
him, for only 2 energies is very good. Granted you have to discard
them...But that's where a DCE would help. Quick Attack only needs two
energies of any kind to be used. Quick attack can be used while you
build up Flames of Rage again and again. 70 HP isn't bad and a one
retreat cost is always great.

Overall Score: 9.0

Promo #7 - Jigglypuff (First Movie CD Mail-In)

While it is a collectors dream ,and I'm happy to have one, it isn't
going to be replacing Jungle Puff in most decks. 50 HP isn't bad and
first aid can be useful. But in dealing 20 damage to yourself when using
Double-Edge you are begging someone to knock out Puff. 40 damage dealt
ain't bad but it doesn't make up for the 20 loss on your end. A one
retreat cost always is good but it still doesn't add attraction to this
card.

Overall Score: 4.5

Promo's #8 and #9 - Mew (League Holo and Non-Holo Promos)

I've never been a very big fan of Mew personally. Don't play him and
probably never will in any of my psy decks. But he does have some good
points about him. He is an excellent late game threat. Deevolution Beam
is a excellent attack...Taking out the bigger foes who can deal the
heavy damage quick. And Psywave is decent as well when up against a
energy costly pokemon like a Blastoise or Venusaur. 50 HP may be
low...But this Pokemon would seem to be a great way to use the Defender
Trainer. One retreat is good as well.

Overall Score: 7.5

Promo #10 - Meowth (Pokmon TCG for Gameboy Promo)

It's a Meowth. Decent attack which promises 20 damage to one of your
opponents Pokemon ,active or benched, and only costs two energies or a
DCE. 50 HP is good for a basic as I've said before and he has a one
retreat cost. All in all it's  Meowth, and a decent one...But I don't
see the Persian line played often so that lowers the score a bit.

Overall Score: 5.5

Promo #11 Eevee (Leage Promo)

First props to Scott G. for playing this card in the STS tournament. A
very gutsy and intelligent move. Promo Eevee's one and only fault is
it's HP ,which is 30. But that is a minor drawback really. Consider...An
attack that does 20 for one mere energy. A resistence to Psychic Pokemon
making it a major Mime and Psy killer. A free retreat cost. And a
Pokemon Power that allows you to evole it into any Eevee form when you
evolve a different pokemon. And a great late game damage dealer. WOW.
Great card with great properties.

Overall Score: 10 (30 HP doesn't shy me away from this card in the
least)

Promo #12 Mewtwo (Nintendo Power Insert)

Ok it isn't nearly as good as MP Mewtwo...But this card is still very
good and has it's own traits that can be used very nicely. 60 HP is good
for a basic. Energy Control depends on your flipping...If you can flip
some heads then you can really begin to frustrate your opponent.
Telekinsis is a great attack. Allowing you to pick off weaker bench
pokemon if you so desire. This Promo is a Promo Eevee's Nighmare:-)
(Yeah that sounded great after I just praised Eevee to high heaven).
It's retreat cost is the same as MP Mewtwos. Overall this card is good
and can have it's place in a psy deck.

Overall Score: 7.0

Promo #13 - Venusaur (TCG Gameboy Game Strategy Guide Insert)

I for one really like this card. 100 HP is what you would expect from a
high profile Pokemon like Venusaur. It's Pokemon Power basically assures
you that Status Effects won't mean anything to you as long as Venusaur
doesn't fall victim to one himself. Mega Drain ,while costing 4 energy,
also heals Venusaur while also dealing 40 damage to the defending
Pokemon. And a 2 retreat cost ain't bad at all for a stage 2. There is
nothing all that bad here at all.

Overall Score: 8.0

Promo #14 - Mewtwo (Video Insert)

Same as Promo #3. So read that for my review. I don't quite like the
artwork for this card though. Just doesn't seem as cool as the other one
or Telekinetic Mewtwo.

Overall Score: 9.0 (Minus .5 because of the Artwork!:-)

Promo #15 - Cool Porygon (Stadium Bundle Insert, SOON to be given away
in League)

Like many people this is the only Promo I'm missing. But I was very
happy indeed when Pojo reported that Cool Porygon would be given out in
the League. I have sadly forgotten the specifics of the attacks that I
remember reading from a friend who has the card. But I don't remember
thinking they were that bad. Overall I guess it was good. Any help with
this card from you guys and it's attacks would be greatly appreciated.

Overall Score: 5.0 (Until I get furthur information)

Promo #16 - Computer Error Trainer (League Promo)

So far the only Promo trainer we have...Well...This card is just
downright bad. You can't force your opponent to draw the cards so using
it in a stall ain't worth it. And once you use it your turn immediately
ends. Oy...I just think Professor Oak is such a better replacement for
this card. Computer Error isn't meant to be played...At least not in my
view.

Overall Score: 1.0 (Yes, I think it's that bad...)

Promo #17 - Dark Persian (Nintendo Power Insert)

Same as the card in the TR series, only with much cooler artwork and a
cool holo design. Tempt is decent, and if you flip heads it's basically
a GOW. Poison Claws isn't that super...It only does 10 and you have to
flip for the poison. But it could be worse. Also Dark Persian has a free
retreat cost.  Which makes it a decent stall/semi-attacker. 60 HP ain't
to shabby either.

Overall Score: 5.5

Promo #18 - Team Rocket's Meowth (League Giveaway)

Like someone said on Pojo already...This card begs to be used with a
Defender. 40 HP is what you would except from a basic. Miraculous
Comeback can be either very good...Or your killer. Depends on how you
flip the coin. TR Meowth is very iffy but if you feel you are good with
the coin he may be for you. Can be a great late game ender if you need
to knock out just one pokemon and both benches are relatively filled.

Overall Score: 6.0

Promo's #19 and #20

These two have yet to be released...Although Number 20 is rumored to be
Psyduck. When these are released I will have small reviews for them for
you guys to read. I am personally very interested in the Psyduck one.

Promo #21 Moltres (Second Movie Give away)

Not to bad. No weakness and a resistence to fighting shuts down the
powerful Hitmonchans. The retreat cost is only one which adds to the
value. 70 HP isn't bad at all, and isn't a big minus IMO. The attack is
good in my view as well. No matter what your doing 60 damage. And hey if
your good with the coin this could be great for you. If your not so good
you may be hestiating to use him. BUT he still has strong points for you
as well.

Overall Scrore: 7.5

Promo #22 Articuno (Second Movie Give away)

This card really does belong in Raindance because I really do like his
attack, despite the compliants of it only doing 20 damage for 3 water
energies. In a Raindance Promo Articuno would be a great bench killer if
you can flip some heads. 10 damage to all your opponents benched pokemon
plus paralyzing your opponents active pokemon is just great. Add that to
no weakness, 70 HP, and a one retreat cost and we have a very good card.

Overall Score: 8.5

Promo #23 Zapdos

Can't say I like him...His attack is way to unreliable...Because IF you
flip tails you damage yourself with 30. Not so good...Plus it takes 3
energies to use to begin with. 70 HP, No weakness, and one retreat, help
it out a bit. Defenders could be used effectively with Zapdos. But I
would shy away from him...Especially with Gym Heros coming out and TR
Zapdos in it.

Overall Score: 4.0

And finally...

Ancient Mew (Second Movie Give away)

Great collector's item...Not so great card. I can only see this being
effective in a late game situation. But 30 HP is far to low...3 Energies
for Psyche is ok, and 40 damage is great. But the HPand 2 retreat cost
really downgrade this card.

Overall Score: 4.0
