Today I'm discussing deckbuilding techniques-choosing colours. First, we
must address the pros & cons of the types.

Water: What me & many of my friends consider to be largely the "best" type
(is there is one.). Good Basic:Lapras
Pros: -high HP evoloutions
-big attacks (Dragon Rage/Aurora Beam)
-nobody has resistance to it
Cons: -High Retreat costs
-"slightly" low-HP basics

Fire: Roughly the second best type. Good Basic:Fossil Magmar
Pros: -high-damage attacks
-overall high HP
Cons: -Weakness to Water(gulp)
-Energy hogs(oink oink)

Grass: The most disruptive type. Good Basic: Scyther(do I really have to
say that?)
Pros: -Disruptive(Ever fought a Koffing which kept getting Tails?)
-Overall Low retreat(max seems to be 2-Venusaur, Victreebel &
Vileplume-the 2 V's)
Cons: -Not-so-heavy attacks
-Low overall HP(Venusaur has 100, though)

Electric: The kamikaze warriors of bench destruction. Good Basic:
Electabuzz(Duh!)
Pros: -Good for the Bench D. Deck(my buddy has 1 and it iz really good)
Cons: -Kill yourself(might not be too bad, thought...if only Arcanine
promo had Thunderpunch)

Psychic: The best mono-colour that is NOT an archetype(Raindance doesn't
count...it sucks w/out Lapras NEway). Good Basic:Movie Promo Mewtwo
Pros: -Weakness to itself(Except for the Gastly line). Good for Mono-
Colour decks.
Cons: -Watch out for Confusion("NOO!! Mr. Mime just got KILLED"-   yes, Mr.
Mime DOES self-destruct-Wall gets cancelled, duh!)

Fighting: The has-been type. Also the fastest. Now its best for supporting
Water or Colourless Fliers. Good basic: Hitmonchan(I think its obvious)
Pros: -Fast damage
Cons: -Too many used cards have Resistance to Fighting
