Today my rant is about the most over-rated and over-played deck--Haymaker.
In EVERY killer deck report, in EVERY tournament, you'll find at least one
Haymaker. Can't anyone be original? Same stupid Hitmonchan, Electabuzz,
Scyther, etc.  I'm not saying they are bad cards (70 HP, great damage,
versatility) but they're used way too much!  Haymakers are boring and require
little strategy. Don't any of you get sick of playing against Haymakers, or
using a Haymaker? The other two of the Big Three are more interesting, less
played, and less predictable. Playing against a kid with a Haymaker? You'll
practically kill that Hitmonchan faster than they can get it out, it's so
predictable.  Strategy? Attach fighting to Hitmonchan, Jab, Jab, Jab, send
out Scyther, Slash, Slash, Electabuzz, Thunderpunch, Thunderpunch....let's
see some thinking now. Even though stall decks and rain dance aren't original
either, at least there's some strategy and thinking involved besides just
destroying with Hitmonchan. I tolerate Stall and Rain Dance (I use a stall
myself, along with an original Water/Fire with NO Charizard and Blastoise,
and I'm planning to revive the Energy Recycle a friend and I created) because
they aren't so simple, boring, and overused. Something should be done about
Haymakers. They should be banned from tourneys.  A message to all of you
Lamemaker players (there's a lot of you)---Get your own deck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditch the deck everyone uses and be original. To other users of the Big Three
besides Haymakers-- Just a Stall or Rain Dance isn't enough. Have multiple
decks, and at least make the others original. People who have three decks
which are all Rain Dance, Stall, and Haymaker are looked down upon and
deserve it. Have at least one original deck if you HAVE to have a deck in the
Big Three.
Thanks for posting this, Pojo, and I hope it gets some people to be original
and stop using someone else's deck.
