Hello all, What is below is a deck idea I came up with after looking at the Broc and Sabrina Gym Trainer decks. All of the cards listed below, except for the Oaks and the Gust of Winds, came from several of the Trainer decks I own. A look into the future. A deck made out of Gym 1 & 2 Pokemon Deck: Tag-Team Trainer, Ver. 2.15 By Bryan Howland (tymer@btc-skynet.net) Translations by Ed "Edo" Hrzic (found at the bottom of the file) (Translations can be found at http://www.geocities.com/TimesSqure/Alley/2247/Poke.htm) The Tag-Team deck is based around the Takeshi (Broc) and Natsume (Sabrina) Gym Trainer Japanese decks. I included a few cards out of the Erika (Erika) and Kasumi (Misty) to help out the mix. The breakdown is as follows: Natsume's Goosu (Gastly), Lv. 16 x3 Natsume's Goosuto (Haunter), Lv. 29 x2 Nastume's Gengaa (Gengar), Lv. 29 x1 Nastume's Suriipu (Drowzee), Lv. 18 x3 Natsume's Suriipaa (Hypno), Lv. 31 x2 Takeshi's Iwaaku (Onyx), Lv. 30 (a.k.a. The Subway Onyx) x2 Takeshi's Iwaaku (Onyx), Lv. 41 x2 Takeshi's Ishitsubute (Geodude), Lv. 17 x3 Takeshi's Goroon (Graveller), Lv. 30 x2 Energy Retrieval (US name)(out of Takeshi & Natsume) x2 Energy Search (out of Erika) x2 Gust of Wind (US name)(out of Basic) x2 Monster Ball (Poke Ball)(out of Kasumi) x1 Nivi City Gym (out of Takeshi) x1 Professor Oak (US name)(out of Basic) x2 Proper Etiquette (out of Erika) x1 Takeshi x1 Warp Point (out of Natsume) x2 Yamabuki City Gym (out of Natsume) x1 Double Colorless Energy x2 Fighting Energy x11 Psychic Energy x12 The Tag-Team is designed around Energy Manipulation and Bench destruction. The best way to open is with a Drowzee active and either Onyx, a Gastly, and maybe another Drowzee on the bench. The goal is to use Drowzee's Energy search attack, along with the Energy Search Trainers, to build and support the bench. The main hitters of the deck are the Geodude, Haunter, and Level 30 Onyx. The main goal of the deck is to either take out the opponent's pokemon in the active spot or play sniper and hurt them on the bench. Both the Geodude and Haunter have attacks that can nail a benched pokemon for 30 damage. The only problem with these attacks is you only ahve a 50% chance to actually connect. The Deck's main spotlight (and a personal favorite of mine) is the Level 30 Takeshi's Onyx. It's underground movement attack is quite effective. The ability to hit up to 2 benched pokemon for 20 damage each (weakness & resistiance do not apply) is very nice. The restriction of using the attack every other turn is nice for game balance. My only gripes are that this level of Takeshi's Onyx has 70 HP and that underground movement requires 3 fighting energy to be used. The Deck's other creature support comes from the Graveller, Gengar, and Hypno. Graveller's attack is decent, provided you get the flips. Gengar's Dark Body attack is nice for shutting down all Pokemon powers and the shadow attack is rather decent as well (40 damage and the opponent can't retreat). Hypno just adds to the nature of the deck. He can set up the opponent's bench with his revive and let the other bench damagers go to town or hurt the active damaged pokemon with his pendulum slow attack. What is below are the translations for the Japanese cards that have not been released in the US yet. They are from the Nivi (Takeshi/Brock), Tamamushi (Erika), and Yamabuki (Natsume/Sabrina) City Gym decks. These translations were done by "Edo" Hrzic (hrzic@hawaii.edu). The only reason I don't mention the Hanada (Kasumi/Misty) City Gym is because I only have the Monster Ball (Poke Ball) from that deck. Concidering that the Jungle expansion has been released at the time of this write up, I felt the translation wasn't required.
